Business Paradigms Gone!

This week I spoke on a panel at the Microsoft Office 365: Your Office, Your Terms Event Series.  The panel was there to support women business owners. The topic was challenges faced in this economy, how to start or grow their business and technology enables entrepreneurs.  Sounds kinda heady though the information offered was critical for young and experienced business owners.  Though the event was for women, the audience was both men and women of all ages.

As an intuitive business consultant I work with my clients to learn to use intuition and sound business practices together.  This post is mostly about the later.

Key points made by the panel. Note: Challenges for solopreneurs are different from for high growth companies and in some ways they are the same.

  • The business environment is constantly and rapidly changing so don’t think old school.  Be aware in present time, be conscious of all the changes happening due to globalization, technology and the enormous business creativity that is constantly changes the business landscape.
  • There is no current paradigm so we need to look at business differently.
  • Think Darwin – the species that evolves survives. Be flexible.
  • Create a balance in life and work or you will get lost in your business then regret it.
  • Create a financial plan for your whole life not just your business.
  • Be willing to change your business model and to learn new skills.
  • Consider how your business will address the trend toward social, mobile and global.
  • Plan to create strong networks. Networks that include both men and women who have access and are decision makers.
  • Get certified as a women owned or minority owned business if you are interested in corporate contracts through Supplier diversity programs.
  • Find the talent and ability you need to grow your businesses quickly. Don’t compromise on this.
  • Use technologies relevant to your industry.
  • Secure capital. Learn to use someone else’s money responsibly to scale your business.
  • Be willing to ask. Ask for money. Ask for mentoring. Ask for partnership. Ask.
  • Have a mindset that supports success: Play to win. Thinking big enough. Be a strong negotiator.
  • Know how to present your capabilities, your value and your company’s value.
  • Be willing to take risks.
  • Recognize economic issues facing a new business then charge forward planning and adjusting to these realities focusing on what you can control.
  • Find new markets for your products and services.
  • Develop innovative products and services.

Manifesting the small stuff!

Manifesting

The art of manifesting is as simple has having a clear vision.  This sounds so easy and it can be.  Most often we focus on what we cannot manifest.  Can’t manifest a relationship, a job, money, health, etc.  There are reasons for this that do not diminish our ability to manifest.  It is the small things that remind us that we can manifest what we want.

My husband and I go to movies a lot because we are in the production business.  Earlier this week we pulled into the parking lot of our local theater and saw cars driving in circles fighting for parking spaces.   I watched us immediately match the concept that there are no parking spaces, it will take us forever, etc.  and so it did.  Ugh!

Yesterday we headed to another movie but this time my husband decided not to simply match the group agreement but rather he decided to create his vision of parking.  His vision.  We would pull into the lot.  Go to the second floor.  All cars in front of us would go right and we would turn left and immediately find a parking space in the first or second space.  Off we went with this vision in mind.

We pulled into the lot.  There were once again lots of cars.  We drove to the second floor.  All the cars in front of us turned right.  We turned left and saw a woman and her daughter walking.  We asked if she was leaving.  She said yes and pointed to the car in the second space.  Yahoo!

After we parked my husband sat for a moment to reflect on what just happened.  In his vision he had seen the mother and child.  A coincidence?  Not at all.  We do it all the time when we consciously decide how we want something to be and can see it clearly in our mind’s eye.

Try this yourself.  Take the time to visualize or see in your mind’s eye how you image an event going for you then watch that vision unfold.  Try it with small stuff to recognize the ability then try it with something that has more charge or challenge to it.  Let me know your comments.

Best wishes on your success!

Yes I Can Fly

Fly

When my daughter was very young she told me a secret.  She could fly but she did not want me to tell anyone because they would not believe her and then she would not be able to fly again.  Honestly I wanted to believe her but I did not. I was sure this was a childhood fantasy. Of course, as her mother I supported and encouraged her hoping not to show one ounce of doubt. She looked at me and said, ” I cannot fly anymore” and so begins our journey as a child learning that we cannot do one thing or another because others tell us we can’t, they can’t or they can’t imagine that we could.

Outrageously Successful

Fast forward to present time.  As a business intuitive I see people decide or become programmed by others that they cannot.  This energy is so strong that it automatically sticks to most of us and we work with this limit.  Steve Jobs died yesterday.  He was one person who did not let others lack of understanding or awareness hamper his vision.  One broadcaster who knew Jobs well stated that Steve always found a way to get his goals.  He described him as focused, determined, intuitive and a visionary.

On the flip side there was talk that he did not have the best social skills.  As an intuitive I see his lack of concern about what others thought or believed was possible and his unwillingness to let others program him gave him a bit of a rough edge.  When he met these limit makers Jobs pushed right on through their energy to pursue his vision.

The author of the Harry Potter series was rejected by eight publishers before one picked up her books.  How might our world have been different if Rollins had given up and we would be without Harry Potter?

Talked Out of Vision

A young client, Jeff,  is a successful American professional working in South American. Jeff told me his passion and original goal was to be a veterinarian.  His dad told him back in high school that he could not make a living as a veterinarian so Jeff went to business school.  As Jeff told me this story I saw that he will find a way in the future to pursue his passion for caring for animals.

No Fear

Sarah wanted to start an IT company.  Her family and friends tried to talk her out of it fearful that she would fail.  Failing was not Sarah’s concern.   She was excited by the challenge and, in fact, enjoyed that she chose to do things others could not imagine her being able to do.   Sarah did this as a child winning and losing many skate boarding competitions.  To her starting this company at such a young age was just another competition.  She won!  She now runs a successful IT company.

Limits

Take the time to stop and be aware of the limits (others’ concepts) that  have programmed your space and unconsciously or consciously limit your success.

Meditation

I ask all my clients to use meditation as one of their business practices.  Meditation is beneficial on many levels but most importantly it teaches us to visualize.  When we have a strong vision it will surely manifest regardless of any logic or others concepts.

In meditation I teach my clients to imagine or see a rose in their mind’s eye. This is an exercise to open clear seeing and to visualize. For those who are certain enough I challenge them to see the rose so clearly that it manifests.

Stop Wanting. Have!

ThumbsUp

Recognize Your Success

Havingness refers to your capacity to allow what you want in each aspect of your life – to have what you want. Havingness begins with a clear vision followed by clear thinking.  I work with clients everyday to make sure these first two steps are in place otherwise we find ourselves working hard and not achieving our goals.

Sarah

Sarah contacted me because she wanted to add a new interior designer to her firm.  She met a woman and wanted my intuitive read on this potential hire.  I saw Sarah making a mistake many business owners make when hiring.  They assess potential hires before they have a clear and strong vision of what they want for the position.  I worked with Sarah to clarify her vision of the position.  As we defined her vision I noticed Sarah’s concepts or thoughts that were in the way of knowing precisely what she wanted.

Wanting

For example, her description of the skill set she wanted was followed by statements about why she thought she would not be able to find a person like this or why they would not be available or would not want to work for her.  It was an amazing stream of thoughts that completely invalidated her vision and they were her thoughts!  We cleared her thinking so that her vision was true to what she wanted.  This came up again as she described her vision further regarding  salary & benefits, personality traits, work ethics, etc.  Each time she described what she wanted  followed with thoughts about why it was not possible.   By the end of our session she began to realize how her thinking about things affects her havingness.

Having

In the end, she came up with a strong and clear vision for the position.  Once that completed she was ready to look at the potential applicants and whether they fit her vision logically and intuitively.   She changed from the energy of need which causes us to compromise our vision to a vibration of havingness – the certainty to have what she wanted in this position.

Havingness

These concepts apply to any situation.  Have a clear vision.   Clear your thinking. Decide you can have what you want.

Please share your thoughts, experiences, etc.

Best wishes on your success.

The energy level of success! Do you have it?

My client Cathy called because her business was down last week and she was concerned about meeting her financial goals.

Being successful or failing is never a coincidence and it is not a mystery.   Cathy’s father died two weeks ago and his funeral was last weekend.  The energy of death was in her space.  It affected her business.  Her clients intuitively pick up on her energy as a successful businesswoman and she was not there.  She was in a lower vibration.  This is not logical.  This is intuitive.

Sarah

Another client called because her business had stopped for an entire month!  Sarah was diagnosed with a system infection a month ago and while she did not feel great she felt she was able to work.  Coincidentally from the onset of Sarah’s illness through the four weeks until she was well she received not one single phone call for her services as an interior designer.  Up to that point her business was robust and she has always done well.   Also not coincidentally as soon as she was well again clients started calling again and she is as busy as ever.   Sarah found this remarkable.  How did her clients know she was not well?   I saw intuitively that when Sarah was ill her energy changed.  Her clients intuitively connected to her at a certain energy level  (a highly creative vibration) and Sarah was simply not at that level until she recovered.

Store

I walked into a small local grocery store while traveling and could hardly breathe.   The energy of desperation from the owners of the store was so intense I just wanted out   Clearly they were in financial survival.  I could sense this and as a potential customer I just wanted to run and I did.  I ended up not buying what I came into the store to find.

Everyone is intuitive.   We can support our success by being conscious and aware of the energy level we are being and what  our clients, customers, patients, etc. are experiencing.  What is your energy level or the energy of your business?  Does it support your success?  If not, change it and notice what happens.

Please share your story or experience.

Best wishes on your success,  Kay

Not a Coincidence! A Success Story

I tell my client’s stories to bring us out of our unconscious routines, to wake up our awareness so that we create and not just accept.  Enjoy Fred’s story so that you can create your own.

Fred was preparing a proposal and bid for a big contract for a project that has never been done before.  The project was for one of his best clients and he needed to get this right.  The cost exceeded the expected budget by 60%.  He was nervous.

In the end he drafted a proposal that would create a great product and using the best talent in the industry.  He also worried about the cost and the short timeframe.  He pressed Send and off it went.

Immediately upon sending the bid, Fred’s mind starting going.  They probably already have someone in mind for the project.  They can probably do it for less.  They will never accept the bid because it is more than they expected.  His mind just went on and on with streams of invalidation.

Fred called me with his mind racing out of control.  I led him through a meditation to clear his mind.  This is an important concept because whatever we believe will manifest.  Fred needed to clear his thinking.  From meditation he released the energy and the thoughts that invalidated his bid, the proposal and his company.  Then Fred imagined (created a mental image picture) of his client loving his proposal, the bid and awarding him the contract.

I watched Fred clear f his negative thoughts and create a new vision.   I saw he still had some worry energy in his space so I suggested that he do this meditation regularly until he heard back from his client.

Within 5 minutes he got a call from his client offering him a contract for a different project, one he had not even bid on and was three times larger than the one he just submitted!  A coincidence?  If you are an atheist you can logically create concepts to explain this away.   If you are intuitive you can see how this manifested.

As for the original bid his client had not looked at that yet but would get back to him.  In the meantime he had to get busy on this new project.  It’s a Miracle!

What is your success story?

I think I hit the wall

Hit the wall. Reached my limit. These are interesting terms that describe how we feel when we are stuck.  As a business intuitive I see that we experience being stuck when our energy stops moving.  Hitting the wall, reaching your limit or being stuck does not mean it is time to give up your goals.  Understanding the energy dynamics behind this experience may help.

Energy Not Moving

When I say energy is not moving I mean this literally.  We all have energy that flows through and around us.  When energy is moving we feel inspired, creative and ready to conquer the world.  When our energy is moving slowly we may feel tired, less focused and not so creative.  We get through the day.  When our energy stops moving we feel defeated, exhausted, loose perspective and perhaps even feel depressed.

Allow Change

The challenge here is not to quit.   At these times we see everything as black and white because stuck energy is limited so everything is limited, i.e. either/or.  We feel stuck most often when we are moving to the next level of achieving our goals.  It is a new energy level.  It is unfamiliar and means changing from an old and familiar energy level to a new one.  When we resist this change, we are resisting our energy and so it gets stuck. The question then becomes.  “How determined are we to achieve this goal?”  Are we willing to allow change and for energy to change?

Thoughts Create Stories

Another common experience that causes us to get stuck is our thinking.  We get stuck on a thought.  It can begin that simply.  When we get stuck on a thought that makes us uncomfortable we tend to focus on it.  Our mind then elaborates on the thought, creates a whole story based on our fears and suddenly we have imagined a worst case scenario or worse.  Our body responds emotionally and suddenly we are stuck in our own thinking.  We are not breathing and our energy has stopped moving.

Fred

Fred bid on a big project.  He was sure he was the right vendor and submitted his bid with great confidence.  He knew the timelines for the decision to be made and that time came and went without hearing from the contractor.  He immediately went into fear and invalidation.  In his mind he decided that his bid had been disregarded.  They had decided to go with someone else.   He had hit the wall.  He could only imagine the worst case.  When he told me this scenario, I smiled to myself and pointed out to him that he made up that entire story in his mind without any basis in fact.  He was not able to rely on his intuition on this because he was too emotionally involved so the best solution was to call his potential client and ask.  When Fred called he found that the primary contact had taken personal leave due a death in the family and would be back the following week.  I suggested that Fred enjoy his work for the next week, keep a clear vision and not let his mind wander.  In the end, Fred did get the contract.

I often joke that our analyzer has a mind of its own and makes up incredible and interesting stories.  We all know that our thoughts are not always correct.  They are just our thoughts.

Why Am I Stuck

When we hit the wall, it could be for many reasons other than taking big steps or letting our thoughts get the best of us.  It could also be we are getting out of our comfort zone.  It is scary or unfamiliar.  Maybe someone got into our space (we are feeling someone else’s energy) and it has unsettled our energy level.  There are so many possibilities.

Get Energy Moving

When we hit the wall, reach our limit or feel stuck the goal would be simply to get energy moving.  How we get our energy moving in part has to do with what caused our energy to get stuck in the first place.  On the other hand finding ways to raise our vibration are effective as well.

The goal is not to give up or quit simply because our energy stopped moving.  At these times it may be hard to see clearly or get unstuck.  Here are some options:

  • Do something that you really enjoy.  This raises our energy level which will get our energy moving.  Once our energy is moving we have a better perspective.
  • Seek insight from a neutral professional who can see intuitively what is going on because the answer is not logical.  If it was logical you would have found your answer by now.
  • Meditate each day.  In this way you clear your space, raise your energy level so that you don’t have to hit the wall to find your way in achieving your goals.

Apple, Inc. – An Intuitive Business

This past week Steve Jobs resigned as CEO of Apple stepping out of his role as the chief designer.  Everyone wonders how his genius will be replaced.  It was not his genius it was in large part his reliance on intuition.  Below you will find some of my favorite quotes by and about Steve Jobs.  Feel free to add yours.

Trip Chowdry, a director at Global Equity Research, said, “Success in the consumer space is not dictated by getting your product 80 percent right, 90 percent right, or 97 percent right,” he said. “The success is defined by the last 2 percent of the product, and I don’t think there’s any other individual on the planet who has the kind of intuition Steve Jobs has to make sure they get the last 2 percent right.”

“Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me … Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful… that’s what matters to me.” [Steve Jobs The Wall Street Journal, May 25, 1993]

“The cure for Apple is not cost-cutting. The cure for Apple is to innovate its way out of its current predicament.” [Apple Confidential: The Real Story of Apple Computer Inc., May 1999]

In a speech last year at Auburn University, Tim Cook, the new CEO of Apple, urged the audience of young graduates to trust their intuition over logic or plans.  He said it made no sense for him to take a job at Apple in 1998 when the company seemed to be fading.  “But no more than five minutes into my interview with Steve, I wanted to throw caution  and logic to the wind.”

In a commencement speech to students at Stanford University in 2005, Steve Jobs advised, “Much of what I stumbled into by following my curiosity and intuition turned out to be priceless later.”

“Your time is limited, don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinion drowned your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

He created everything from personal computers to the iPod,  iPhone, iPad and more. Over the course of his career, Steve Jobs has patented more than 300 groundbreaking products that have made our lives easier and revolutionized the way we interact in the world.

“The thing that drives me and my colleagues at both Apple and Pixar is that you see something very compelling to you, and you don’t quite know how to get to it, but you know, sometimes intuitively, it’s within your grasp. And it’s worth putting in years of your life to make it come into existence.” Steve Jobs

“Again, you can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

I would like to add that it takes great courage to follow your intuition.  The difference is success.

Best wishes on your success, Kay

I Don’t Have

Be careful what you declare or as the saying goes “be careful what you pray for”.  Recently an employee of one of my clients, Clare, quit suddenly.  The employee was very angry for no clear reason but did accuse my client of being wealthy.  Clare heard herself saying in defense, “I’m not wealthy!”.    When Clare relayed this conversation I knew she would experience a hit to her income that week and she did.  So what happened.

From an intuitive perspective it was a perfect example of what happens when a company decides to make a change.  I had worked with Clare on her vision of growing her company by 30% each of the next two years.  It may be surprising but her vision and her plan are completely doable in her industry and the way she positioned her services.  So far this year her company has already grown 20%.  Her business plan was right on target to meet her goal by the end of the year.

When a company changes its vision, its business plan and its goals this has an impact on everyone in the company both practically and on an energy level.  Every company has an energy level.  We feel it and experience it when we interact with them as a customer, vendor, contractor, etc.   If we like the energy (and this may be not be entirely conscious on our part) then we continue our relationship with them.  If we do not then we move on.

In this scenario, the employee was experiencing many personal conflicts among them financial.  Clare was supporting her in every way she could, knowing that she could not solve an employee’s personal issues.   As Clare changed the energy of her company to grow financially by 30% this year it vibrated in the space of this employee.  It made her uncomfortable because the energy in her personal life was the complete opposite.  She was creating “not having” money.

As an intuitive I watch the energy in everyone’s space to see if it supports or gets in the way of achieving goals.  I was not surprised when Clare told me the story of her employee quitting in anger.  The anger was directed at Clare’s “havingness” for financial success because it made the employee uncomfortable because she was creating the opposite.  She was creating not having.   This may not be logical but it is very intuitive.

While Clare is not wealthy at the moment it is her vision and her energy is set to create wealth. When she declared, “I am not wealthy!” she invalidated her vision.  Not coincidentally her income dropped 30% for that week.  I reminded her that words are creative.   She realized this as well and reset her vision of success (wealth).

In the end Clare reached out to the employee offering her the opportunity to continue to work with the company knowing the vision of growth.   Clare owned her vision of wealth and success as she spoke to her former employee who she valued.  In the end the employee returned understanding the success of the company and now being in agreement to support that success.  I saw intuitively this employee will change her personal financial situation by matching the energy of success in this company.

This was a great experience for both owner and employee.  Clare was able to look intuitively at the situation to gain greater understanding and awareness.  This experience helped her grown in her understanding of her vision of success.

Take the time to look intuitively as situations in your workplace and how you might grow in your success.

Best wishes on your success,  Kay

Getting decisions right

The most common reason people call for a consultation is they have a decision to make and they want to get it right.  We all want to be certain about the decisions we make but is not always what happens.   Neurologist Robert Burton believes our brains often manufacture a sense of certainty that we are right whether that is the case or not.  This happens because the brain has the ability to create a feeling of being right even when we are drastically wrong.  That is scary and we have all had this happen to us.  How often have your said or heard, “What was I thinking?”  I often tease that the brain has a mind of its own and makes up incredible stories that simply are not true.

From an intuitive perspective it is easy to be a better decision maker. When people call about making a decision they say:

  • I feel one-way one day and the opposite the other.
  • I can’t decide.
  • I have three thoroughly logical decisions and I can argue each of them equally.
  • I want to feel absolutely certainty about this decision.
  • I can’t find a good decision. I don’t like any of my options.
  • I have made a decision but it doesn’t feel right.
  • All the facts say I should decide this way but my intuition tells me otherwise.

Is this a decision you need to make?

Would it surprise you if I said, “Most times there is no decision to be made”? Or that decision making is overrated. Knowing when not to make a decision is just as important as making the right decision. For example, Should I quit my job?  Should I move?  Should I hire or fire Suzie?  When I hear a question like this I know the person is not ready to make a decision OR they are asking the wrong question.

When someone has a decision they are struggling with my question is always the same.  What is your goal or the vision you have for your company?  That is always the starting point.  If you don’t answer that question first then you are building a Winchester Mystery House of decisions and not a successful business.

Decision making from an intuitive perspective

When we have a clear vision of our success and a plan to get there we barely realize the decisions that we are making all day long.  We gather the facts and information and if it supports our goal then we make a decision without a second thought.  You don’t call me.  Everything is moving, as it should.

When decision-making is difficult

When we get out of sync with our vision, lose our perspective or someone places a demand, their energy or a problem in our space  suddenly we feel like we have a difficult decision to make.  When you hear yourself say, “Should I…..? you know you have lost your perspective so it is time to stop and not make a decision from that space.

What gets in the way of having perspective?

When we are overwhelmed by energy in our space, cannot see straight or think clearly we are not in the space to make a decision.  So what can  affect our ability to see or think clearly?

  • Other’s energy or concepts in our space.
    • What others want you to decide
    • Others reactions to what you decide
    • People who have investment (or energy) in your decisions
  • Ego: Our ego can easily get in the way of making a decision that helps meet our goals
  • Past experiences, memories, energy or thoughts clouding our perspective
  • Our fears or emotions
  • Resistance to change
  • Wanting to stay in our comfort zone
  • Wanting to please someone or everyone.

Knowing what affects your decision-making ability makes you a better decision maker. If does not feel right then step back, get more information, find other choices or realize its not a decision you need to make. Having perspective means seeing clearing and being able to step back and look from a neutral place. Making good decisions means being aware of your vision and what is affecting you in the moment.

Recognizing when you have lost your space (perspective)?

You have lost your space and your perspective when:

  • When you feel pushed to make a decision.
  • When you feel yourself reacting to someone or something or everyone and everything.
  • When you hear yourself say, “I should…” This is always a red flag that we have lost our perspective.
  • Can’t decide. Arguing one-side then the other. Or keep changing your mind.

How to Make Good Decisions

Here is an intuitive approach to making better decisions. Make sure you have a clear and neutral perspective when making a decision.  If it seem difficult even after having all the information that you need then stop thinking.

Stop Thinking: If the decision was logical based on available information then you would have already made the decision without effort.  So the answer cannot be found in logically. Robert Burton, a neurologist, shows studies that indicate our thinking can be dead wrong. Another study showed the more we think about something the more inaccurate we can become.

Find your space/Regain your perspective: Take the time to meditate.  Everyone whines about this but this is the best way to regain your perspective. How are you doing? What is on your mind? Who’s in your space? Are you clear thinking and in a space of neutrality?

Take the time to be clear about your goals or vision of success. Ask, “Will this decision  help me meet my goals?” If the answer is “No” then whose question is it or whose problem are you solving?

Intuitive Exercise

  • Find a quiet and comfortable place to close your eyes
  • Take a deep breath and begin to bring all of your attention on yourself
  • Calm your body and clear your mind
  • Be grounded and centered
  • Imagine (do not think) the decision you are about to make
  • Meditate on one decision versus another.  Use your intuition to begin to clear your thinking
  • Let go of others’ energy in your space about this decision
  • Take deep breaths and release
  • Once you are calm and quiet and you feel clear then ask yourself what is the right decision (even if it makes you uncomfortable in some way)
  • Listen to your first thought because the thoughts after that will be the mind arguing with you

Best wishes on your success, Kay

Is your vision of success up to date?

This past week I watch the new hit cable show “The Wormhole” with Morgan Freeman.  This segment was on the concept of time.   I won’t go into the discussion about time though I was happy to hear scientists describe reality.  One scientist in an effort to explain time first defined reality as a series of mental image pictures that we have about reality.  Those pictures are constantly manifesting what we perceive.  Heady stuff but none the less affirms what I know intuitively, thoughts are powerful.  They create our reality.  It is hard to analyze but easy to see intuitively.

This is why I work so much with my clients to develop their vision of success (mental image pictures of success) because that is what will manifest.   Another way of saying it is, if you cannot imagine it then it cannot manifest.

The most difficult part is to know the difference between thoughts about what you want versus a vision of your  being successful.   Thoughts are literal so thinking about what you want is translated as something you do not have.  Your reality then becomes “wanting” and “not having”.  This is not logical but it is very intuitive.

All my clients want something that is why they come to me.  “How do I achieve my goals?” “I am doing all the right things but it is not happening.”   My immediate response is “What is your vision?”  “Now what are your thoughts about that vision.”    If their vision is clear (I want to have a successful printing company) but it is seen as something outside themselves (wanting not having) it will not happen.  Or if I want to have a successful printing company then the thought in the back of their mind is “but I don’t think it will happen” then they are left with wanting and not happening.

My best advice is to take the time to meditate to quiet the fear in the body and the noise in your mind.  Quiet your body and clear your mind then begin to imagine yourself being successful in the way that you desire. Keep meditating and do it often until you can see this vision clearly.

Next clear your thinking about this vision.  Release any thoughts, emotions, doubts, etc. that are in the way of seeing your vision manifesting.  Do this and experience a miracle?  But don’t do it just once.  Make meditation a tool you can use to continue to create the reality that you desire.

Best wishes on your success,

Kay

Success with Grace

I would not be surprised if you are not drawn to this theme or even relate to it.  Success as we know it and have seen is not graceful.  It is hard work . At times it is brutal .  So many tie their energy in knots as a way of creating success.  This is not the only way to create success but it is the way we have been taught and programmed and so our automatic response can create effort, stress, problems, conflicts, etc.

There is another way.  What is Success with Grace?   Well, we all know what success means to us and for each of us this will be different.  Grace is the energy level we are being as we create our success.  As an intuitive I see the energy of grace as energy moving in body, mind and spirit.   Now some of you have changed to another link but for those of you who are still reading there may be an answer here for you.

Maybe the idea of body, mind and spirit does not fit with the concept of business or success then again maybe it does.  The challenge is to take the time to find the vibration of grace for yourself.  It may take quiet time (meditation) to become aware.   As a starting point grace is the state of being at ease and in neutrality.   Being at the vibration of grace makes it easy to have perspective, make the right decision, and see your vision clearly.

Approaching your work from the vibration of grace does not make your work life perfect but it does change how you react and handle demands, expectations,  communication, problems, etc.

How do you know when you are working from the vibration of grace?  You are clear-headed, have a level of neutrality to what is going on in your work or business, have the ability to focus on your vision and are non-reactive.

Carol

Carol is one of my clients who has a clear vision of her success as an investment broker, is very smart and knows her industry well.  She is struggling to succeed.  When I look intuitively I see her energy “tied in knots”.  Carol finds it hard to be neutral in body, mind and spirit all at once.  She is most neutral spirituality. Her body and her mind are reactive.  For example, you could say that she flies off the handle (body and mind).

 Fred

Fred, a successful pastry chef, is looking to reduce the stress in his work life.  He is what I refer to as a healer.  Fred feels the need to respond to everyone’s displeasure, which causes him to be reactive.  When I look intuitively, I see that Fred has grace (ease and neutrality) in the mind and spirit parts of him.   His body is not neutral to those around him.   He is looking to find the vibration of grace in his body.

Exercise

Now back to you.  Take a moment without thinking.  Notice with your eyes closed what happens for you in your work?  Are you aware of how you approach your work?

  • Do you feel like you see clearly and have perspective (spirit – your intuitive side)?
  • Are you able to clear your thinking and have perspective (mind – getting out of old thoughts in your head)?
  • Are you calm with emotions in check (body – no tension)?

Meditation

Finding the vibration of grace takes your attention, as most of us were not taught how to be there.  Try this meditation.  This could take five minutes or an hour.  Take time for each step.

  • Sit in a quiet and comfortable place
  • Close your eyes and take deep breaths to release the tension in your body
  • Be grounded and centered – behind eyes in center of head
  • Begin to quiet the body and clear your mind –deep breaths and releasing
  • Place your attention on yourself and notice how you are doing.
    • Try not to think rather notice and be aware
    • Meditate on the vibration of grace for you
      • Imagine ease in your mind – release your thoughts
      • Imagine ease in your body – release the tension and emotions
      • Imagine ease in your spirit – hear  your inner voice
      • Take deep breaths and release until you experience the vibration of grace as you know it at this moment (ease, neutrality, tension free)

The next step is to bring this awareness into your life.  When you are at work take a moment to notice if you are at the vibration of grace or something else.  The more you do this the more you will grow in your understanding of your vibration of grace.

Notice how this changes how you experience yourself (body, mind and spirit) and your work.

Imagine Big!

Imagine Big! was the theme of last month’s meditations. The goal was for each person to open to their true vision of themselves and their work.  For some it meant changing their perspective on what they are doing and for others it meant changing course and committing to their dream.

As an intuitive I have seen that most of us do what we are good at, have been successful with or fell into.  Then there are those who go within to remember their true passion, their dream job or work then take a deep breath and commit to making it happen.  Both choices need your attention, focus and hard work so why not choose to focus your life force energy on creating what you have always wanted.  We don’t do this because change is scary.

Here is a brief summary of one woman’s journey back to her true passion.

Kathy, an interior designer, signed up for intuitive mentoring with me because while she was very successful working for a prestigious company, she longed to pursue her lifelong passion as an artist.  We agreed the mentoring sessions would be focused on making this happen.  I could see intuitively this was going to be a tough transition because all the energy of validation and success in her space from years of successful interior design work.  It was going to make it hard to let that go and step into the unknown. She was willing and eager.

After a few mentoring sessions Kathy declared that she did not want to give up interior design and could she do both.  I saw intuitively how letting go of all that was familiar was making her very uncomfortable in her body. I also saw this was her way of working through this bright yellow energy in her heart.

Kathy did all the right things to move her interior design business forward even signed up for a class to write a business plan.  In that class she realize she wanted to write a business plan for her art business and presented this to her class mentor.  He told her, “You cannot make a living being an artist. It is better to get a job.”  Invalidated by that communication Kathy changed the business plan to develop her interior design company.  At the end of the class each student was to present their  plan to the class.  Kathy stood up and realized that she could not do it.   The business plan for a successful interior design company was not what she wanted though completely doable because of her experience, contacts and resources.  It was at that moment she committed to her original vision of being an artist and created an art business.

In our most recent mentoring session Kathy told the business plan story, that she was ready to create the art business and wanted our mentoring sessions to focus on that.  She was scared.  Her energy was also electric with the passion of the work she truly wants to do.  Kathy developed her plan with concrete steps as a way of managing all the uncertainty.

Imagining Big! can mean simply committing to the path you have always wanted to take or it can mean stepping off the train you are on then stepping onto the path of your desire.   I remind all my clients, “It is never too late and you are never too old to create the change you desire.”

Hurray Up & Find Your Perspective

I have written about having perspective a couple of times and I am doing this again because it is so critical to our success.  As business owners, every action we take, decision we make and communication we have impacts the success of our business.  Having clear perspective is important to each of these well.  In reality we all lose our perspective several times during the week.  How much we lose it and how fast we can regain our perspective varies.  It would be great if we could find a way NEVER to lose our space but that is not real so the goal is know when you have lost it, to be able to stop and regain our perspective really fast!

What does it mean to have perspective?

For me having perspective means seeing things clearly.  As an intuitive that means not only having a clear understanding in which we use our logic but also being able to read any situation and clearly assess what is going on and knowing the correct action or decision. Having perspective involves being neutral enough in a situation so that you can respond and not react.

Why does this matter?

You can answer this as well as I can.  When we lose perspective it impacts our staff, clients and our business.

  • Can’t think clearly to make a good decision or asses a situation
  • React to someone, to everyone, about something or everything
  •  Communication is off.
  • We make mistakes.
  • Loose sight of the goal or our vision
  • Are not ourselves.
  • Make decisions that are completely off the mark

How long we are in the space of loosing our perspective can be brief or quite long.  During this time we are on shaky ground.

What causes us to lose our perspective?

This can be caused by something personal or business related. It is simply something causes us to lose our space and our awareness.  We feel distracted or fixated on the one thing that is on our mind or in our space. The term space for me refers to being conscious and aware in the moment.

So what makes us loose our space and perspective?  It could be a thousand things.

  • We hear something that unsettles us.
  • We are overwhelmed.
  • Stress.
  • We interact with someone who makes us uncomfortable.
  • An emotion or memory gets re-stimulated
  •  An unexpected event knocks us off our center.
  •  Someone jumps in our space with a demand.  They climb right into the center of our head so that we are no longer clear-headed.
  • When our ego gets in the way
  • Certain situations, people or projects cause us to lose our perspective

We each have a sensitive space and for each of us it is different.  Basically we lose our ability to be centered.  When we are not grounded and centered then our attention and awareness is off somewhere.  We are not able to see clearly in the moment.  I am working with one of my clients, Carol, who loses her space (perspective) when one of her staff disagrees with her.  Everyone recognizes when she has lost her perspective but for a long time she did not.  Carol still looses her space but now is aware of when this happens and has the ability to regain her perspective.

The goal is not to be perfect but more importantly to know when we have lost our perspective and take the time to get it back in that moment!  Recognizing when you have lost your space then having the ability to stop, step away and regain your perspective is the goal.

Knowing what triggers’ loosing your perspective helps you to be prepared, to be aware of not reacting, etc.  Awareness changes everything.  It is all about awareness

How do you know when you have lost your space?

It is so clear to me when one of my clients has lost their space.  Suddenly they are fixated on one situation, person or incident.  Everything is seen through that.

  • You can probably feel it before you realize it logically. You feel different.  You are not yourself.
  • Can’t think clearly
  • Can’t see straight
  • Can’t decide or are uncertain about deciding
  • Feel communication is off
  • Make mistakes
  • Resist someone or something
  • Are not ourselves

How do you regain your perspective?

Having perspective means being aware in the moment.  There are many ways to regain our perspective.  I am going to offer an intuitive way.  Take the time to meditate every day or at the very least at the moment you realize you have lost perspective.

  • When you loose your perspective immediately step away.
  • Take the time to meditate.
    • Find a quiet place to close your eyes & bring your attention on yourself.
    • Be present.  Bring your attention completely into the moment.
    • Notice how you are doing.  What’s on your mind?  What energy is in your space?  Who is in your space?
    • Clear your thinking
      • Meditate on caused you to go outside yourself (loose perspective)
      • Open to your intuition.  Don’t think.  Just be aware.
      • Imagine releasing the energy, emotions, ideas, thoughts, etc., that are in the way of having perspective.
      • Imagine (envision) how you want to be with yourself, in your work and with others.
      • Meditate on what it means for you to have perspective and be there.
      • Continue to clear & release until you feel that you have your space back and have regained your perspective.

I recommend using meditation each day as a way of having a clear perspective and creating success.

Enjoy not Enjoying

So often I meet with people who are “wrong-headed”, an interesting phrase.  By that I mean they are not being themselves.  They might be stuck on a thought, idea or energy that is directing their attention and  energy in ways that does not support their goals.  A simple way of saying “wrong-headed” is they are distracted by something or someone has “grabbed their attention”.  When this happens they are not being or doing what they desire.

It is so easy to be distracted and have our energy changed in ways that keep us from meeting out goals.   The only place to create success is in this moment and if this moment is stolen from us then we have stepped away from creating our success.

I was talking to a client early this morning.   Sarah was complaining about her day.  She had several things that needed to be done that rubbed her the wrong way.   She was grumpy which to an intuitive looks like energy stuck and not moving.  I also know when energy is not moving then nothing creative can happen.  Her day was about to be wasted.

I suggested to Sarah that she take the time to stop and change her perspective and her energy.  If these were things she had to do anyway then why not decide to enjoy doing them.  The energy level of enjoyment is a high vibration and is creative so when given the choice why not choose to enjoy rather than resist your day?

Sarah grumbled at me (because that was the energy level she was being).   Then she attempted to change her space, energy & thinking to the energy level of enjoyment.  It was not easy.  There were several false starts that made me laugh as she bounced back and forth between being grumpy and finding enjoyment.   Finally she started to make herself laugh which made it easier to be at the energy of joy.

In the end she realized it was much more comfortable at the energy level of joy.  She did say she expected to be grumpy while doing something she did not want to do and never thought about enjoying it.  This was a new concept and it made her feel better about her day.

I am anxious to hear how her day turns out.  Often when we decide to raise the vibration of our day the unexpected happens.

Enjoy Your Day! Best wishes on your success,  Kay

Be Successful Today

Here is a quote I saw today, “Be grateful for both your wins and your losses. They guide us to better things.”
–Gladys Edmunds, writing in USA TODAY.

In general we have our attention on where we are going, goals we want to meet, etc.  This is all great though it may cause us to lose sight of what we have, our accomplishments, our successes, goals we have achieved, etc.  This can cause great stress by always be striving without validating what we have created big and small.   Taking time to stop and reflect on the positive experiences we had yesterday or last week creates an enormous sense of relief and inspires us for today.

My client, Sara, was always striving as if success was in her future not realizing that success is something that we create each day.   Success is not an end point but rather a journey that some decide to take.  Success happens today by being and creating the highest quality action possible.  Then do it again tomorrow.  One success builds on another. It is an energy level.  Success begins in present time, in the moment or in the day.  When we recognize and validate the success we created today that energy can sustain in our space so that we can use it tomorrow.

The energy of success, a higher vibration,  comes from our recognition and feeling validated by doing something well.  Suddenly we feel successful.  From that energy we can create another success and so it goes.

When we lose the energy level of success our life and our work no longer manifest in this way.  This is easy to change!   Today create at the highest quality each experience, action, communication, etc. to meet a goal.  At the end of the day take the time to recognize this success and let yourself feel validated and grateful for the experience.

Notice how this energy level can be used in each day to come.  When the energy drops for one reason or another just reset your space and be successful it the moment and it begins again.   Successful people know this technique.  They know how to get back on track (energy level back) when something knocks them off their game (drops their energy).

Be grateful and feel validated by what you have created and do it again now.

Best wishes on your success,

Kay

What does your audience receive?

As business owners and professionals we are often in the position of giving a presentation.  This might be to pitch our company to a prospective client, a presentation to a group on our area of expertise, etc.   Regardless of the presentation or the purpose it could make us or break us.  It is hard to erase others memory of their experience so let’s get it right in the first place.

There are many resources giving advice and tips on preparing the visuals the content then giving the presentation.  Here is one article I found interesting.  FastCompany.

There is another very important aspect that is often overlooked.  How and what you present is one consideration but more importantly what does your audience receive and perceive?   How is your space?  What do others see intuitively when they watch you speak?  What do they “pick up” about you?   Everyone is intuitive whether they are conscious of it or not and so they react to you, your energy and whatever is going on in your space when you give a presentation.

I have attended presentations with my clients to observe and give feedback.   In one case, I observed my client completely alienate his potential clients because of the energy in his space when he pitched his company.   Conversely I have observed another client completely sell a potential client on giving him a chance  to show his ability to produce.

The key is for you to know what is going on in your space before you give a presentation and change your space as needed to present not only the material but yourself, your space and your energy in a way that helps you meet your goal.

Intuitive Exercise

  1. Take time to meditate well ahead of your presentation and just before your presentation.  Do this as often as needed to clear your space.
  2. Sit quietly with your eyes closed.   If you know how, be grounded, centered and in present time.
  3. Imagine a symbol of a rose in your mind’s eye.  This helps you to stop thinking. This rose will represent the presentation.
  4. Now meditate on the presentation.  Notice how you feel about it, your thoughts, emotions, fears, etc.  Be self-aware.  Your audience picks up on these same things so know where you are.
  5. Begin to release or let go of any thoughts, emotions, concepts, etc. that invalidate or get in the way of your goal for your presentation.
  6. Know your goal for the presentation.  What outcome do you want?
  7. Now imagine how you want to be during the presentation, imagine how it will go, how you will present yourself, how you will feel, etc.  What do you want others to see, feel, react, etc.  Keep imagining until you can see it clearly in your mind’s eye.  You may have to do this several times before your presentation.
  8. When you can see it in your mind’s eye then you are ready.
  9. Be sure to do this just prior to your presentation.  Shaking off other unrelated distractions or energy so that you and your energy are completely set and focused as you imagine it.

Best wishes on your success,  Kay

Don’t be afraid to ask

There is only one way to get business – ASK.   Ask clients to buy your products.  Ask clients for the contract.  Ask customers to use your services.  And the thing we hate to do the most is ASK.   As a business consultant I am always watching how my clients and others ASK for sales.  It tells me a lot about their success.   Most are comfortable with the indirect ask, i.e. email marketing, print materials, ads, displays, etc.   We spend lots of money making ourselves visible and this is great.  It brings attention to you and your business but then what.

Some of us are comfortable having a face to face meeting, pitching our business, talking about what we do, finding out what our potential or current client needs then we wait and wait.  Nothing.  This is where most sales end.  The next step is the most crucial.  Ask for the sale.  Ask for the contract.  Ask but before you do take a moment to meditate on where you are in all of this.

Your clients and potential clients are intuitive even if they are not aware of it.  They are always reading your energy and your pictures.  So what pictures or thoughts do you have about this sale?   You want it, of course, but do you believe it can happen?  Honestly?   This is where meditation comes in.  Use meditation to know your own thoughts (conscious and unconscious), your emotions and energy about this client and this sale.  Clearing your thinking will make all the difference.  Do this before you ASK!

Intuitive Exercise:

  • Sit in a quiet and comfortable place.  Close your eyes.  Take a deep breath and relax.
  • Place your attention on yourself.
  • Imagine in our minds eye the sale that you are about to ask for.
  • Notice your thoughts about it.
  • Notice how your body and your energy change when you meditate on this sale.
  • Now relax and release the thoughts that do not support your goal, the energy in your space, etc.
  • Finally, meditate on asking for the sale and see it happening.  Keep clearing your thinking and your energy until you can see this happening.

Once you can imagine asking and the client saying yes then you are ready to make the call.  Intuitively they will read your certainty and respond to that.

Here is another perspective on Asking.

Best wishes on your success,  Kay

If you don’t like the way things are, change your energy!

Be the change

Not liking how you feel today?  Not feeling good about where things are going?  Change it!

Intuitively I can see the energy affecting my clients causing them to experience their life or their business in one way or another.  When things are not going so well I can see why.  When I tell them what I see it seems to break up the energy that is bringing them down, altering their perspective.

We can do this for ourselves.  When we don’t like how we are experiencing something all we have to do is change our energy, clear our thinking and focus on a different vision.  Sounds simple.  It is simple but sometimes it is not easy.

Sally called me because all of a sudden she was feeling discouraged.  The phones were silent.  The energy seemed low.  She felt out of touch with her clients.   Then she started thinking.  This is never a good idea when the energy is low.  Her fear was her business was failing.  That thought led to another and soon Sally had created an entire scenario in her mind about the failure of her business.

It is so easy to get stuck on a fear picture or thought then add our energy, emotions and more thoughts.  In this way we create a whole story of our demise or whatever.  We have another option.   I suggested to Sally that she focus her attention and energy in the opposite direction.   If the energy seemed low what can she do to raise the energy?  If the phones are not ringing then call clients and get back into communication.   We have total control even when we are sitting in the energy that we do not.

Within an hour Sally had turned the energy 180 degrees by changing the energy in her space, getting out of the thoughts that would have her give up and focus on what she wanted and not on what she feared.  She called to say it was a miracle!

Intuitively we know that wherever we place our attention is precisely what manifests so be careful that you think or believe.  That is why I suggest that we not put our attention on anything that would pull our thinking ii a way that does not support our success.   When you don’t like how things are then change your energy, have fun.  Decide what you want to have happen and place your attention on that – without effort.

BE the energy you want to experience.  BE the success you want to create.

Best wishes on your success,

Kay

Do You Believe in Miracles? I Count on Them!

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as if everything is.”
- Albert Einstein

Do you believe in miracles?  I count on them!  A miracle is typically considered something that comes out of the blue and beyond our control.  From an intuitive perspective that is inaccurate.

As an intuitive I see a miracle as something we have envisioned, did not know how to manifest at the precise time and place of our choosing and then it manifested!  This does not come “out of the blue”.  It comes from our vision.

We call it a miracle only because we are not aware that we created it.  Our ability to create is the energy of a miracle we all have.  We can use it to manifest consciously and on purpose.

To Succeed

  • Know what we want
  • See it clearly in your mind’s eye
  • Create a plan to get there
  • Allow a miracle, the unexpected and something to “come out of the blue”

When we have a strong vision, a sense of determination and the belief that it can happen it does.  Our vision is always manifesting (until we decide that it is not.)

We call something a miracle when we don’t recognize our part in creating it.  How can we become more capable creators when we don’t recognize our creations?  It is easy to take credit for creations that take sweat and tears, effort and exhaustion.  We are less willing to recognize our creative role when something manifests out of sheer vision and will without all the physical effort.  That is a very limited perspective on our ability to create.

Sally

One of my clients, Sally, called this morning to tell me how incredibly overjoyed she was at her success in creating exactly what she wanted professionally.   She was fully aware that she was the creator of the miracle.  It was a miracle to her because a few short months ago she could not imagine creating a career step from a well-paying high level corporate job that she hated to being a professor at the university of her choosing and in demand as a speaker that included her passion for travel.  A few months ago she had more reasons for why it could not happen.

Jeff

Sally recognized that she was creating a miracle.  So many others I know are not able to recognize or allow a miracle to happen.  They in fact try to destroy it.   One of my clients, Jeff, received a call from a new big client who asked them to work with him to connect with another company.  He had a big project in mind and heard about them.  I saw a miracle happening.  Jeff’s client could have called the other company directly.  Jeff did not see the miracle manifesting.  Instead his own fears about competition took over.  He almost destroyed a tremendous opportunity.  In the end his client wanted to contract with Jeff to subcontract the other company and oversee the project.

Miracles require that we clear our thinking so that we don’t get in the way.

Intuitive Exercise

Find quiet time each day.  Write your vision of your success.  Notice your limits and fears but disregard them. Pay attention and focus on your vision everyday.  Everyday let go of whatever competing concepts that you have.  Be determined. Take steps.

To keep it simple, it works like this.  Once you decide you want a goal, believe that you can have it (with no reason or feeling that you can’t) then your universe will automatically manifest around that goal and it will happen.  Sometimes this goes unnoticed or we take it for granted.  Others are more dramatic, bring us great validation when they happen and others we experience as sheer miracles.

Best wishes on your success,

Kay

Increase your revenue & your success – Laugh

This is not news.  Laughter helps.  Loma Linda University found those that viewed humorous movies or TV shows 30 minutes per day improved their good cholesterol levels and reduced levels of inflammatory compounds. A recent study conducted at Canadian financial institutions found that managers who facilitated the highest level of employee performance used humor the most often. Science is catching up with what we have known intuitively, when you raise the vibration, energy begins to move and when energy is moving it is creative.   Physics tells us this as well so what does this have to do with your revenue?

When the energy level of your company is high, energy is moving, everyone feele better, more inspired resulting in positive actions.  On the contrary when the energy is low, people are grumpy, less motivated and unfocused.   They do not care as much.   This is not new information.  Behavioral psychologists, organizational psychologists and others have observed this. You have observed this!

What is the energy level of your business, your staff, your work place, etc.?  Step back and take a look.  Use your intuition.  The energy is low for many reasons. We can explore those in a future post but for now let’s focus on how to change energy.  When energy is low everything seems to come to a grinding halt.  Phones stop ringing.  Contracts are not awarded.  Absenteeism is high. No one is having fun. Staff are not focused or motivated.  All of this hurts your revenue.

As an intuitive I see low energy as dark and it feels thick.  You can change the energy in a number of  ways.

First take a look at your concept of success.  Does it include being serious and working hard seriously?  Can you imagine having fun, laughing, working hard and being successful all at the same time?  Be aware of your own thoughts about the right energy level for work and success.  Clear your thinking.  If you are the business owner, you are setting the tone (energy level) of your business.  Are you setting it to brown or bright blue?

Next take the time to notice what is going on with you.  What is your energy level?  How can you change your space (vibration), to raise your vibration to having fun?  It could all start with you.  Change your energy first. Fun (a higher vibration) is contagious.

Next change the energy level of your office, staff, company, etc.

  • Change routines.  Have staff change what they are doing for a day.
  • Create a party.  Make it fun and validating.  Include some level of staff recognition.
  • Rearrange the office, furniture, etc.
  • Create a contest or game within the office to raise everyone’s spirits.
  • Get everyone into communication.    Notice where folks are not in communication and change that.
  • Notice where the energy is low and start a conversation with those staff on a lighter note to change the energy.
  • Let go of a staff member who brings everyone down – all the time.

The key is to change the energy.  Get out of old patterns or routines. Do something different.  Do something fun.  This raises the vibration which in turn results in creativity, better communication and inspiration.

Take time each day to notice your energy level then notice the energy level of your staff, office, business, etc.  Don’t waste a day loosing revenue because the energy level is too low.  It is so easy to change energy and enjoy creating success.

Best wishes on your success,  Kay

Be Smarter! Be Intuitive!

When we are looking for an answer or solving a problem some of us use our logic.  Others step back and use their intuition.  Who will come up with the creative and open-minded solution?

Working with my clients I can see a difference in the quality of their decision-making and problem solving when they use their logic and when they use their intuition.   One filled with conflicting thoughts, information and emotions.  The other offers a clear perspective that results in decision that includes a sense of certainty.

When we rely on our logic we are looking for information (thoughts, concepts, information, etc.) that we have already stored in our minds including what we have learned, memories, logic we have used before and as always our own thinking about things which may not be correct.

When we are open to our intuition we engage a different way of gathering information that is beyond what we already know. We use intuitive abilities such as clear seeing, knowingness, clear hearing and others.  From this perspective we are not limited to what we already know and believe to be true and are open to a new level of awareness.

Next time you have a problem to solve try this exercise.

  • Sit in a quiet place.  Close your eyes.  Take a deep breath.
  • Feel grounded and centered.
  • Bring your attention into the center of your head and your attention on yourself.  Stop thinking.
  • When you feel quiet and you are not thinking have your attention on yourself.
  • Be aware in the moment.
  • Now imagine the symbol of a rose.  Open your intuition by imagining what a rose looks like.
  • Decide that the rose represents your question or problem.
  • Without thinking meditate on the rose.  Imagine solutions.

Quiet the body and clear the mind to open to your intuitive ability.  Look for solutions from this perspective.

Let me know what you experience or your comments.

Best wishes on your success,

Kay

Meditation & the Workplace

I ask all of my clients to make meditation part of their day.  The first response I  hear is, “I can’t afford to take the time to meditate!”   My reaction is “You can’t afford not to take the time!”

I see business owners and professionals make poor decisions, react rather than respond in stressful situations and not think straight.  All of these happen when we lose our perspective.  We lose our perspective when we have too much energy in our space, too many demands placed on us and too many people with their energy and ideas in our head.

Things tend to spiral as energy builds in our space.  Meditation is a way to stop, to clear our space and regain perspective.

Successful business owners and professionals know the value of being clear-headed.  Here are a few basic steps for meditation.

  • Close the door.  Sit down.  Take a deep breath and close your eyes.
  • Take another deep breath and release all the tension.  Repeat.
  • Bring your attention on yourself.  Notice how you are doing, what’s on your mind or who is in your space.
  • Take more deep breaths and imagine releasing whatever is in your space, on your mind or in your head.
  • Keep releasing until you feel calm, centered and focused on yourself rather than something or someone else.
  • Now decide how you want to be the rest of the day.  Set your space that way now.

Do this exercise when you feel that you are losing perspective but before you have really lost it!

Let me know if you have any questions or comments on meditation in the workplace.

Loosing It! Then Finding Perspective

Losing It!

Loosing It!  Then Gaining Perspective

It happens.  We lose IT.  What is the IT that we lose?  We loose our perspective.  We are reacting to everything.  We are probably even overreacting to everything.   We cannot think clearly.

As an intuitive I would describe this as loosing your space.  When I look at someone who has “lost IT”  intuitively I see that they our also “out of IT” meaning you are out of the center of your head.  You are somewhere outside yourself and have lost connection to your own thinking and awareness.

Spaced Out

You know this feeling.  It is the same place you go when you daydream or “space out”.   These are all good terms to describe how you leave your center and are operating outside  yourself.  You could say this sounds nuts except that we have all experienced this.  It is not logical but it is very intuitive.

Set You Off

When we leave our center/ourselves we also lose our perspective. An incident or experience probably “set you off” and things are escalating from there.  When this happens we react to old thoughts, memories and emotions that are not true at the moment.   This is not a good time to make decisions or trust your thinking because it is all reaction and not a thoughtful response.

Unintended Results

So how do you get your space back?  How do you regain perspective?  From an intuitive perspective getting your space back is easy.  The hard part is being aware that you have lost it and that you need to get your space back before your reactions create unintended results.

Awareness

First, decide to be aware when you Lose It.  Decide to find your space before you say or do one more thing!  Maybe that means stopping a meeting, leaving the room, not answering the phone, etc. until you regain perspective – meaning that you come back to your center.

Intuitive Exercise

Try this meditation.  Know that the goal it to be present in the moment in your center with your body calm and your mind clear.

  • If possible, find a quiet place to sit down.
  • Close your eyes and take a deep breath releasing all the energy in your space.
  • Let the body relax and clear your mind.  Stop thinking.
  • Place all your attention on your body relaxing.  Don’t think.
  • Have our attention in the moment.  On yourself.  Clear your mind.
  • Bring your attention into the center of your head, behind your eyes.
  • Take a deep breath and release.
  • Imagine bringing all your attention and awareness back from whatever set you off.

When you feel calm and clear you have regained perspective.

  • Now with your mind clear decide how you want to be at that moment.
  • Imagine in your mind’s eye how you want to experience the rest of your day.  Reset your space.

What Next?

Loosing our perspective happens.  If you find that it happens a lot then consider adding meditation as a part of your business practice because you are very sensitive to the energy around you.  Meditation will help you gain and keep perspective.

Start Your Day with Success!

0012photonica

How you start your day has a great deal to do with how successful you are. Those who start their day deciding what they have to do that day are not successful. They work hard, are busy but not successful. Those who start their day imaging or bringing into their awareness the goals they have for their personal lives as well as their professional lives. In the environment today this should include your financial goals and goals related to your health.

A mornng meditation or a simply a time of quiet to bring these goals to your awareness is the single most important part of your day and most people don’t do it!

Once you recall and envision your goals then and only then can you make a list for your day that will move your toward your success. This is different than a “to do” list that may be driven by factors other than achieving your goals. They may even be strong factors but they may not be as important in the bigger picture.

So achieving your goals begins with having them in your awareness and focusing your time to achieve them. Otherwise you are constantly being distracted onto other things that occupy your time.

Now that you have a clear vision of the goals you want to achieve NOW you can create your plan for today and this week. What steps can you take today that will help you move closer to your goals? Make time for these things FIRST even if there are a bunch of other “things” that you feel you must do. “Things” are not related to your goals. They could be if you changed the energy on them and repositioned them so that they are steps in achieving your goals.

If you are one of those people who have a tough time knowing your goals, taking the time to ground your day along these lines then perhaps it is time for an intuitive reading on what is in your way. Call me if you would like help with this. My goal is the success of your business or your career.

Increase your business – Go within

swirl-blue-purple-orange-cropped

Happy New Year everyone!  This is a really good time to stop and take a look at our business.   What worked?  What failed?  List our successes.  Acknowledge ideas that just did not create the benefit we wanted.  This reflection is standard business practice. I whole heartedly support this reflection and suggest that we write it all down!

As an intuitive I am also aware that everything we create manifests from within us.  Our businesses do not manifest as a result of something separate from ourselves.  If this sounds a bit obscure it’s because we are not used to thinking or being aware in this way.

Add an intuitive look to your review of your business.   When we create change within it will reflect on our business.   At a deep level our reality is a reflection of our inner selves so let’s start there to grow our business.

With this in mind our successes and our failures are really no mystery.  You can see this for yourself using the following exercise.

Intuitive Exercise: Take the time to sit quietly.  Write down your successes and failures for 2008.  Write down the things you are proud or grateful for and those that were disappointments.

Quiet yourself.  Maybe close your eyes.  Take a deep breath and go within.  Stop thinking.  Open to your intuition.  Allow yourself to imagine or see in your minds eye.

Now ask yourself for an intuitive answer to any of the items that you wrote down.  Do not think.  Listen intuitively.  See in your minds eye.  Notice your very first thought and only your first thought.  What you hear, see or know does not have to make sense.  It is important that you not think but allow yourself to be open to your intuition.

Once you get an answer reflect on this.  Notice how it created or caused the outcome you experienced.  Do not think, analyze or explain it.  Just know it.

You may find thoughts that do not help you get your goals.  For example, you wanted to increase your sales by 10% for 2008 and they stayed flat.  When you looked intuitively you felt all the demands on your space, family, friends, outside commitments, etc.  So now you know that despite great plans to increase sales they did not increase because of other demands on your space that grabbed your attention and I suspect – your energy.

Another example, you just cannot get over the fact that you did not get the big contract you worked so hard for.  Intuitively you saw the energy of your assistant.  Without being logical you can see that she was not in agreement with this new contract because it would change a routine that she was comfortable in.  Yes others energy does affect our business.

This can be a fun and enlightening exercise.  Take some time to do this and you will be in a whole new space for 2009 and so will your business.

Don’t even get out of bed….

We get up.  We get going.  We have a list of things to do.  At the end of this busy day we may or may not have taken steps toward our goals.

Consider this.   We all have thoughts, concepts and ideas in our awareness.  To an intuitive this looks like pictures in your aura.  Our lives are created through these pictures whether we like them or not.    When we get up in the morning how we experience our day and decisions we make are in direct response to these thoughts, concepts and ideas and not necessarily our goals.  This is a serious distraction to our business success.

For example, your goal may have been to develop a proposal for a potential client.  Instead your attention and awareness are occupied by the energy your staff may have put into your space.   They had a problem and they wanted you to solve it.  With these thoughts and the energy of this communication in your space you could not focus on the proposal.  A proposal that was important to achieving one of your goals.

This is one of an endless list of stories from my clients in which they began their day with their attention and awareness on any number of issues that did not help them achieve their goals.  Working hard and not accomplishing any of our goals.  It can be so frustrating but it is no mystery.  Once we realize that we are the affect of other’s thoughts and energy then we can take steps to resolve.

As an intuitive I offer a simple exercise that produces dramatic results.  Wake up and stay in bed until you are focused and aware of creating a day to achieve your goals.  Try this.  Make a point of waking up in enough time to “meditate” in bed.  You could also go this after you get up.  The key is to do this exercise before you begin your day.

Intuitive Exercise:  Relax.  Take a deep breath.   Begin to be aware of your space.  Don’t think.  Be intuitive.  How do you feel?  What is on your mind?  Who is on your mind (or in your space)?  Take deep breaths and let go of whoever and whatever is occupying your space.  Release any energy or tension you may feel in your space.   Be aware of clearing others, their thoughts and their energy from your space otherwise you will spend your day achieving their goals for you!

Begin to focus on your goals and your vision of yourself and your business.  Focus on the goals you want to accomplish this day, this week, etc.   Now begin to imagine what you can do to achieve those goals.  Let go of everything and anything else.  These distractions keep you busy but do not help achieve your goals.

This exercise may take five minutes or an hour depending on how clear your space is.  If you do this exercise each day it will become easier to clear your space and reset your attention and energy to achieve your goals.

While I started by saying this exercise was simple it may not be easy to clear your space if you are not familiar with this technique.  Begin simply.  Do this everyday even if only for 5 – 10 minutes.   It will become easier and the results will become more and more apparent.

If you do not create your day then you are experiencing your day through the ideas and energy of others in your space.

Be successful everyday.

Selling? Develop long term customers…

j0289893 There are many ways to create a sale.  Some people rev-up their energy and run an intense sales pitch through your space.  In the onslaught of the energy many may, in fact, buy what is being sold.   Once the client gets out of the energy of the sale they will do one or both of these.  They will return or cancel the contract because they felt pushed into something or they will simply never use the produce or service again for the same reason.  Customers are very sensitive to energy.  Salespersons or business owners who are aware set the energy of their contacts with an intuitive eye to the customer.   Knowing your customer and what they are in need of then will develop long-term relationships with their clients/customers.

To create this long-term relationship in which customers come back again and again we must be intuitive.  There are several levels to a sale.

1. Telling your potential customer about the product.
2. Knowing what their needs are.

This is as far as most business folks go but there is a third and absolutely essential piece.  Your customer has thoughts or pictures that affect their ability to hear what you tell them and to see the value of your product or service.  They may be aware of these thoughts or pictures or is may be entirely unconscious to then.  Either way this is what will determine whether they buy from you or not.  This is where intuition comes in.

There is a current rage that says’ “Find their pain.  Address their pain.”  Well, that is the answer for some customers and will certainly help with that group but there are other energies that affect them.

Telling the customer more and more about your product or service, thinking the more they know the more likely they will be to purchase, is a limited perspective.  Sure knowing the product is important but it does not matter if the person is preoccupied by a competing thought.  Maybe the couple just had an argument before meeting you.  You have no chance. Their attention is elsewhere.  Maybe your client is put off by something in the environment where you are meeting and can’t get beyond that.  There are so many possibilities it is impossible to know ahead of time so we rely on our intuition.

Telling a customer why they need the product or service will have the same result if they are distracted by a competing thought.  It is well know that businesses make most of their money from repeat customers.  Selling is not about getting this sale.  Selling is about creating a customer.  Someone who you will keep over time.   This means getting to know your customer and what their needs are.  It also means knowing the unconscious or semi-conscious thoughts or pictures that have an impact on their decisions.  This is where your intuition comes in.

Let me offer an intuitive exercise that you may find useful.

1. Before you meet with your potential customer take the time to stop and ground yourself.
2. Perhaps close your eyes and bring all your attention and awareness into present time.
3. Gather your energy from your day and be present.
4. Imagine your appointment with your customer.
5. Decide how you would like to be in this meeting.
6. Open intuitively to your customer.
7. Intuitively, what do you see about them?  What is on their mind?  Just imagine.

These are some of the steps you can take to open intuitively before you meet with your client.

When you meet with your client use your own style of presentation then sit back.  Make some separation from your potential client if you are completely in their space.  By doing this you gain some perspective.  Stop thinking and start noticing.  Open your intuition. What do you notice about this person intuitively?  Stop talking and start listening.  Find out about them.  Let them talk to you about what they are looking for.  Don’t think.  Notice intuitively more than listening to their words.  What do you notice separately from what they are saying?  Don’t respond just keep listening until you “see” that you have a clear picture of who they are and what’s on their mind.  If your product is not the right fit, say so and let them go.  I could give you a thousand reasons why this is a good idea but that is another blog.

If your product is the right fit then keep opening intuitively to find the picture or thought in their space that is in the way.  Talk about what you intuit.  Keep reading them and talk about their “fears”.  You don’t have to sell your product at this point.  You are simply getting your customer on the same page with you by finding out why they are not.

As they feel that you hear them they will begin to engage in knowing who you are or how your product or service might work for them.

Are you sabotaging your sales?

Be mindful in sales!

Just the other day I had an interesting experience with someone selling me advertising time. I want to begin by saying that I WANTED to buy what he was selling but he wouldn’t let me.  Let me tell you this very common story.

Fred called just when I was running out the door to an appointment.  He wanted my company to buy radio-advertising time.  It was an interesting campaign that married my company to one of my favorite charities.  I was sold!  The price was right.  The cause was right and my company could show support for something I value.  Win. Win. Win.  Only one problem –Fred.

Let me describe what I saw as a business intuitive when I interacted with Fred.  Everyone is intuitive including our potential customers so I am sure everyone he called that morning had the same experienced though they may not have been conscious of it.

When Fred called it was clear that I was the one hundredth person he had called in the last 10 minutes.  He spoke fast. He was not communicating with me. I was just there to listen to his pitch.  Because I wanted what he was selling I tried to engage him in a real communication.  He was in the energy of giving his pitch, waiting for a yes or no and moving on.  I felt that.  I saw that.  Most people would have been turned off by this and never really “heard” about his offer.

But let’s take it further because I did want to buy what he was selling. I was on the way out the door so I asked Fred to email me the information, contract, schedule for ads, etc.   His energy immediately changed to “She is not going to buy this ad time.”   He was done with me.  Politely he took my email address and hung up.  In the end he did not email me the information. He lost a sale and I lost a good advertising option.

In this situation, Fred was putting out the energy and the pictures of failure.  He was going through the motions but his thoughts (“pictures” in his aura) were like neon signs to anyone he called, “I don’t expect you to buy what I am selling.”  The potential client “sees” these pictures intuitively but maybe not consciously.  Fred’s energy and his pictures create an unconscious and automatic reaction in the space (aura) of the person he is talking to, “I’m not buying what you are selling.”  This happens all the time!  We sabotage our own sales!

Let me give you an intuitive exercise you can use so that you increase your sales rather than sabotage your sales.  After you do this exercise look intuitively at the people who do sales for you.  Notice the pictures they have in their aura that supports or interferes with their sales.

Intuitive Exercise:  To be done before you make a call, meet with a potential customer, etc.

Take the time to stop.  Sit down in a quiet place if possible.  Take a deep breath and relax.  Begin to quiet your space.   Imagine calling back all your energy, attention and awareness from everywhere – last week, this morning’s meeting, tomorrow’s trip, etc.   Bring your attention into present time, the present moment.

When you feel quiet and present bring your attention into the center of your head and behind your eyes.  Notice yourself.  How are you doing?  What will the person you talk to experience from you?  The rush of your day?  Your resistance to making this contact?  The disappointment of your last contact?   Begin to change your space.  Be conscious and aware of how you want your customer to experience you intuitively.  If you had a fight with someone, clear that and any other energy that is “hanging” in your space (aura). You know what you are going to say but what are they going to experience intuitively from you.

Begin to imagine and see in your minds eye  (your eyes closed) the sales call or meeting you are about to conduct.  Notice your thoughts about this.   Begin to release or let go of any competing thoughts, ideas, emotions, etc.  Let go of any past time experiences that interfere with you imagining or seeing successful contacts.

Do not make a call or meet with potential clients until YOU can see clearly the possibility of making the sale.  Your clients or customers are intuitive.  They will pick up on any doubt or thoughts that you have.  Make sure they are picking up on thoughts that support a sale versus thoughts that would sabotage your sale.

When you have set your space (aura) the way you want your customer to experience you and you can see a successful sale in your minds eye exactly as you would like it to happen then you are ready to meet with your potential customer.

There are more intuitive steps but this is a good start.  Have a great day and let me know how your sales go!

Meditate for Success!

Have a clear vision!

Blog – Focus and Clarity of Vision

There is a direct correlation between the clarity of vision and the success of a business.  What more can I say?   How can I convince you?  As a Business Intuitive I can tell within one minute of talking to a business owner how successful they are and will be.  Successful business owners and professionals have a VERY clear vision without doubt or uncertainty.  They hold that vision in their minds eye.

I can see that vision intuitively.  Others also see it perhaps unconsciously and react to what they perceive exactly as the owner sees it.  If the business vision is unclear or uncertain then others sense that and react accordingly.  When a business has a strong and clear vision that is also sensed and we react to their product or service with great expectation.

It begins with you, the professional or business owner.  As a business intuitive in practice for over 28 years I have one simple though not easy recommendation.  Meditate!  Meditate to find that clear vision and focus.   I know the technique below is simple.  I also know it is not easy because most business owners don’t do it which explains the success rate of businesses.

People most often say, “I am too busy to meditate.”  My response is, “If you take the time to meditate on your vision you won’t have to work so hard.”   You can create in two ways.  You can work really really hard and you may or may not be successful or you can take the time to have a clear vision (and work hard if you enjoy this) to create your success.

Try this Intuitive Exercise and Meditation and see what happens.

The clearer your vision the more successful you become.   Meditate first thing before you begin your day.  Take the time that you need for each these steps.  It will make all the difference.
•    Have a comfortable quiet place to sit down
•    Close your eyes.  Take a deep breath and release.
•    Bring your attention and awareness into present time by focusing on yourself,
•    Take a deep breath and release and let go of the thoughts and energy you are holding from yesterday or the day before.
•    Bring into focus a clear vision of your day, your week, etc.  Use your imagination not your logic.
•    Let go of the demand energy or to do list.
•    Set your energy and your space to the vibration you want to be for the day.

This takes 10 minutes to an hour.  It varies on how clear your space is and how focused you are.  Let me know your questions or comments about this modified meditation.

This is not only good for your body and soul it is good for your business and professional success.

Running a business is scary!

A time to go within

A time to go within

OK so you own a business. Have you noticed that this is a journey in self-awareness? As a business intuitive one of my main roles is to work with business owners when they hit the wall! Every successful business owner experiences this periodically. From my intuitive perspective this is one of the best times for a business to take a step towards more success if the owner is willing to realize that their own personal limits are affecting their business. This may not always be logical but it is very spiritual and intuitive. From my experience in working with business owners I can tell those who will be successful. Half the clients I work with as a business intuitive call me when they are scared about their business succeeding or frustrated that it is not growing. I look at intuitively are the concepts they have about themselves and their business. I also look at the emotional charge on these concepts. If we acknowledge that our business is a physical manifestation of who we are then it is an easy transition from “My business is stuck” to “I am stuck”. What is not always apparent is what we are stuck on. Often the concepts and energies that are affecting us are very old or are buried deep in our space. To get the energy moving in our business often means getting the energy moving in our personal space. The owner of hedge fund found his fear of loosing his business related to his fear of being alone. Real estate investor hit the wall when she realized she could not let people be on her side and related this to hiding others from an alcoholic parent. A business consultant hit the wall when the grief of a 10-year-old divorce was re-stimulated. A high fashion model hit the wall because her parents feared loosing her. The list goes on. It is surprising how easy it is to recognize and move out of these fears but it does take the courage of self-awareness, determination and amusement. Yes, amusement. That is the top of another blog. Businesses that succeed include those where we are willing to have a personal journey to discover what limits our success. We may be aware of some of these concepts and some are unconscious and have an emotional charge. Taking the time to realize these concepts and clear the energy charge on these pictures will result in the energy moving in our business. When you hit the wall try this exercise. If all else fails don’t be afraid to get an intuitive consultation to see what’s within you that is affecting your success. Intuitive Exercise (meditation) Find a time when you can sit quietly for a while. Close our eyes. Breathe deeply and often. Let go of tension when you exhale. Imagine bringing all your attention and awareness in around you. Bring your attention off of your business, your family, and your life and focus your attention within. Breathe! Continue until you feel like you are centered in present time. Most importantly do not think! In this exercise you are going to open to your intuition so relax and image in your minds eye, visualize a symbol for your business. See it out in front of you. We do this so that you don’t think and open to your intuition. If you cannot see a symbol for your business pretend to. The next step is important. You will want to pay attention to the very first thing that comes to mind. Do not require or expect that it is logical. Logic will alter the response. Your intuition is the first response. The next immediate thought is analytical and not true. Relax. Focus within. See the symbol of your business or goal in front of you. Now ask silently the question you have. Notice your first fleeting impression. There is your answer. Enjoy your personal journey and your business success.

Firewalking, success and focus!

Recently several of my clients attended a workshop on fire walking.  FIREWALKING!   They were amazed at what they were able to do.   It was beyond belief and beyond what they ever imagined was possible.  Several said they used the intuitive tools to achieve their goal to fire walk including being centered, focused and having a clear vision of their goal.

As the story goes they went to try fire walking.  Why would they do this?  All of them were at a point in their professional career where they wanted to take a big step forward.   They were ready for anything that would inspire the power and strength within to take that step.

They decided go to the workshop.  Check it out.  Promising themselves that they may or may not fire walk.  They wanted to make sure they gave themselves a way out.

In the end they not only walked on hot coals, they also broke arrows pointed in their throat and even bent rebar in the same way.   To accomplish these feats they were reminded to focus on the goal (break the arrow, bend the rebar and get to the other side of the coals).  When they faltered the instructor reminded them not to focus on their fears but on their goals.

I could not have said it better.  Nothing is impossible.  Whatever can be imagined can be created.

So don’t try this at home but if you would like to try fire walking my clients recommend Sundoor.com.

What is wrong with rose colored glasses?

dreamstimefree_36802811 The recent Monday Meditation was very enlightening.   We focused on enjoying our business and enjoying our life.  What is not to like about this?  Everyone was excited by the possibilities.  In reality meditating with this in mind was not as easy as everyone imagined.

We are not an island meaning that whatever is going on around us affects us.   Actually it affects us until we decide NOT to become or match the energy.  The US is at war in Iraq and Afghanistan.  It seems far away.  Intuitively it does affect us.  We have thoughts and feeling about these wars and others including Gaza.  We have reactions to the world situation as a whole.  The media is constantly pushing us to react one way or another.  This affects us.  We become more serious and are aware of the problem.  This bleeds over to other aspect of our lives including our business.  Suddenly our business is serious and we have problems to solve.

Meditation is a way to stop matching or being the effect of one event or another.  Meditation is a way to find the quiet space within and become aware of what is affecting us.  We gain perspective. Not only do we  become aware we can change our energy, our perspective and ultimately our lives and our business.  A simple change in our energy can change everything.

In this Monday Meditation everyone changed their perspective, their vision and ultimately their energy to enjoying their business and their life.   The result of this may be a period of discomfort.  If we are routinely serious or sensitive to  solving a problem then simply deciding to enjoy has ramifications.  Ramifications that are well worth having.

Try this intuitive meditation:  Take 3o minutes to one hour to sit quietly, close your eyes, focus your attention and awareness on yourself.  Breathe often.  Become aware of what is on your mind.  Clear your thinking.  Clear your mind. Finally begin to imagine enjoying your business and your life.  Keep imagining until you can see this in your minds eye.  It is something we all want but seeing it  and imagining it happening requires using your intuition.  Keep imagining until you can see it clearly.  When you can see joy in your minds eye then you will experience in your life.

Enjoy!  Kay

The trinity and business ownership

dreamstimefree_2565706 It may seem like a strange concept but trust me it works.   Successful business owners have a balance between their body, mind and spirit.  It works something like this.   One aspect of a business owner is as a visionary with a creative idea and the undeniable urge to see this vision manifested.   This brings out the the organizer side of the business owner.  The organizer side takes this vision, adds color, texture, and  has a passion to make it a reality.  The organizer grounds our business in a physical reality.  The organizer, or our analytical side, creates the structure for our vision.  Finally, there is the do-er side of us.  This is the side of the business owner that knows how to provide the product or service of our business.

These three aspects of a business owner are familiar to each of us.  When we are able to move easily between these three aspects of ourselves then our business has the chance to thrive.   When we are stuck in one or the other aspects then we are out of balance and, not surprising, so is our business.  From an intuitive perspective our business is a physical manifestation of who we are.  The more we know about ourselves the more we know about our business.  Notice for yourself.  Can you move easily between each of these three parts?  Are you more comfortable as the visionary and neglect the doer side?  Perhaps you are comfortable but have lost the passion of the visionary.  Try the intuitive exercise below to get your business back in balance and moving toward greater success.

Intuitive Exercise:  Find a quiet place to sit, close your eyes and quiet your body.  Take a deep breath.  Bring your attention and awareness within you.  Imagine (or see in your minds eye) three roses about 6 inches in front of you.  Each rose represents one of the three aspects described above.  Look intuitively at each rose.  What do you notice about these three roses?  Is one bigger than the others?  Is the vibration of each rose the same or different?  Don’t think or analyze.  This is an intuitive exercise. Notice more.  Now imagine each rose as vibrant and energized.  When you can see this balance your meditation is complete.

Spirit, Mind and Screaming Body

j0149029You know the feeling.  You decide to take a big step or take a risk in order to move forward.  You have a clear vision. Intuitively you know it is the best step.  You make the decision.   All of a sudden you break into a cold sweat and a world of doubt washes over you.   Were you wrong?  Was your decision too impulsive? Why do you feel like you just made a big mistake?

From an intuitive perspective everything is happening exactly as you might expect.  When we have a goal, it is by definition something you don’t currently have.  You know that to move from where you are to where you want to be requires getting out of your comfort zone, taking a deep breath and making that decision.  This is how a successful business and successful people operate.  They know what it will take then they just do it.  They don’t let anything talk them out of their vision.

When we decide to get out of our routine, our comfort zone and all that is familiar we are ready to get our goals. This takes vision.  Your intuition holds this vision.  You can imagine and see intuitively exactly what you want.  You create a mental image picture of this in your minds eye then think through all the logical steps to get there.   These are the first two steps and they involve the spirit (the vision) and mind (the plan).

What happens next determines your success. The body and your emotions react to this great idea.  The body does not like change or to be uncomfortable so it starts screaming.  YOU DECIDED WHAT!   SCREAMING…. the cold sweat.  In the end many business and professional decisions are made not intuitively or with any logic but rather how loudly your body screams and resists change or being uncomfortable.  Your emotional reactions to good sound decisions can completely talk you out of taking the steps you really want to take.

Your success depends on your commitment to your vision and focusing on making it happen.  If the discomfort or fear is too great then you will back away from your goals until you feel comfortable again.  Our success is always this choice.

Learning meditation is one way to get through this fight between your vision and the discomfort change creates.  In meditation you learn to quiet the body and release the energy that is in your way.  After meditation you are re-energized and feel more certain.

Finally, take steps to make yourself comfortable physically and emotionally when you are ready to push forward to achieve your success.  It will help you through what can be a challenging time of change.

A decision that does not matter!

B0319623Success comes from knowing our vision (goal) and keeping that vision in our minds eye.  As a business intuitive, my clients often ask about one decision or another I refer them back to their vision (goal) and whether this decision will help achieve those goals.  Often we think one decision or the other is critically important loosing site of our vision.

We focus on the next decision when our vision makes us feel as if the changes to get there are too great.  We feel overwhelmed by our vision. It is the magnitude of change it represents that causes us to be distracted.  This is the point where we have to decide whether to stay committed to our vision or create a new one.  Once we decide to commit to our vision then determination and focus are needed to push through the energy to get there.

Achieving goals is not for the faint of heart.  If you have a vision, see it clearly in your minds eye.  Don’t think about it.  See it intuitively then focus your time, attention and commitment to achieving that vision. Breathe deeply.  Allow fear.  Allow change.  Achieve your vision.

Intuition + focus + energy = success

dv1990098We have all heard about the power of visualization.  This is not a new concept and can be a speedy way to achieve the goals you have for yourself and for your company.  As a business intuitive I am aware that my most successful clients are those who have a strong vision of what they want to create.  They are clear and certain.   I have other clients that have an equally clear vision though they are not as successful.  There are many factors I see intuitively that contribute to this but there is one that is true of all of them.

My most successful clients  have a clear vision.  They also have a strong focus and a determination to have their vision manifest.  The second group has an equally strong vision though are not as focused, certain or determined.  When I look at this from an intuitive perspective I see men and women who have the ability to create a mental image picture (a vision) that is exactly what they want to create.  It is similar to a drawing, photo or video that you hold in your minds eye.

The next step is harnessing and gathering your attention, focus and energy to bring to this vision into reality.  Therein lies the difference between these two groups of professionals and business owners.  One group brings their energy, focus to activate their vision.   This changes it from a mental image picture to a physical reality.  The picture is actually energized.

Sometimes it is easy to energize a vision and sometimes it takes great force.   Have you ever heard the term “force of will” or “through shear force of will”?  Both of these terms refer to a person’s ability to focus their life force energy on a vision to transform it into something physical.  If I were a physicist I might explain the effects of energy on a vision in terms one might use to describe quantum physics.

My best counsel on this would be to have a clear  vision.  This is not always as simple as it may sound.  Meditation would help in this regard.  Next bring your focus and attention directly on this vision.  Do not be distracted. Take steps directed toward your vision. Finally push yourself through any limits real or imagined.   Repeat any of these steps as needed.  Most importantly, don’t give up your goals!

Shooting yourself in the foot!

Are you ready to make that phone call?

Are you ready to make that call?

As a business intuitive I learn a great deal from my clients and sometimes I sigh when I see the mistakes business owners make.  It is not because they don’t know better.  These mistakes happen when they are not aware of what is going on within them at the time.  All of us, business owners or not, become the effect of the energy of our life experiences.  This then affects our work.  We all have thoughts or mental image pictures that are re-stimulated and cause us to react in automatic and unconscious ways that may not serve us well.  These are the times when we shoot ourselves in the foot.

Yesterday I was sitting in the office of one of my clients as he was making an important phone call to a potential client.  My role was to be intuitive and observe this communication.  My client, Fred (not his real name), was talking to a potential client by phone, discussing the scope of work, his fees, the needs of the project, etc.  His client was a production company new at producing a web-based video and working with minors as talent.  I saw intuitively that my client was not in the space to have this conversation.  He had energy in this space that set the tone before he even made the phone call.  His energy was set to educate.  This was an entirely different space from developing a contract to provide talent for a production, which was the goal of the phone call.

I watched as Fred, clearly frustrated with this new producer, slowly but surely created an energy divide between himself and his potential client.  This was not what he intended to do.  The conversation ended with my client thinking, and conveying unconsciously, that the production company did not know what they were doing.  In this space Fred did not convey how he could help them complete their project.  He did not hear the producer’s concerns about the cost of his services, etc.  The communication between the two was not accomplishing the goals for either side.  In the end, the production company promised to get back to Fred at the end the day and they never did.

As an intuitive I see this happen all the time.  Quite simply Fred responded through his thoughts and feelings rather than being focused on the goal for this conversation.   This is more common than you would think.  I know all of you are thinking that you would never do that or let that happen when, in fact, it happens all the time simply because we are not aware.

In working with business owners and professionals I recommend a simple intuitive exercise that raises your awareness.   This exercise is designed for you to clear your thinking and the energy in your space before you make a call.  I suggest this so that you don’t automatically and unconsciously talk through pictures, thoughts or energy in your space.  We have all done this then thought, “I didn’t mean to say that.”

The second part of this intuitive exercise is taking the time to focus on your plan for the call.  In this way you create a clear mental image picture that guides your conversation to the outcome you are looking for.

Intuitive Exercise Before making that phone call close your door.  Sit down. Take a deep breath.  Close your eyes.  Bring all your attention and awareness onto yourself.  Notice how you are doing.  Let go of whatever is on your mind.  Decide how you want to be in the meeting.  How do you want your potential client to experience you?  What do you want to happen in this call?  Begin to imagine the conversation in your minds eye.  See it intuitively out in front of you.  Don’t think!  See it!  Imagine it!  When you can see or imagine this conversation exactly as you would like then you are ready.  This could take five minutes or an hour depending on how much energy you have about the call, how clear you are about the purpose of the call, how much energy you have in your space to clear and what other things are on your mind.

Don’t shoot yourself in the foot.  It is worth the time to set the energy and your focus before you make that sales call.

Note: Regular meditation makes this easier helping you get into a routine of clearing your space and setting your goals.  Online Meditation each Monday www.insightintuitiveconsulting.com

Its Not A Miracle!

kayWhen I was growing up I loved the idea of a miracle.  My favorite saying was, “Its a miracle!”  I sought out opportunities to find a miracle big or small.  Now I don’t subscribe to the idea very much.  So what happened between then and now?  I learned that those so-called miracles were actually created by us.  A miracle used to be a magical idea because I believed that something outside of all of us created it – something God like.  Well I have no argument with God but I am fully aware that we have the free will to create or not create at our choosing.

When we have a strong vision, a sense of determination and the belief that it can happen it does.   We call something a miracle when we don’t recognize our part in creating it.  How can we become more capable creators when we don’t recognize our creations?

It is easy to take credit for creations that take sweat and tears, effort and exhaustion.  We are less willing to recognize our creative role when we something manifests out of sheer vision and will without all the physical effort.  That is a very limited perspective on our ability to create and our awareness of ourselves.

One of my clients called this morning to tell me how incredibly overjoyed she was at her success in creating exactly what she wanted professionally.   She was fully aware that she was the creator of the miracle.  It was a miracle to her because a few short months ago she could not imagine creating a career step from a well paying high level corporate job that she hated to being a professor at the university of her choosing and in demand as a speaker that included her passion for travel.  A few months ago she had more reasons for why it could not happen.

This woman decided to try the techniques I teach in this blog all the time.  She created a vision of her success; decided it was happening now (not in the future) and took one step at a time toward her vision.  It’s a miracle!  Not that it happened but that she changed her thinking to realize she was the creator of her reality.  When she decided that she changed her reality from creating out of fear to creating the reality she truly wanted.

Here is the Intuitive Exercise she used:  Find quiet time each day.  Write your vision of your success.  Notice your limits and fears but disregard them. Pay attention and focus on your vision everyday.  Everyday let go of whatever competing concepts that you have.  Be determined. Take steps.

Meditation is a good technique for visualizing your success.  I invite you to join an online meditation each Monday.  For more information.

Why is this happening to me?

B0319623Do you find your time taken with responding to one thing after another?  Do you feel that stuff keeps happening to you and you wonder what is next? Who is creating all of this?  Successful business owners and professionals know this well.

As a business intuitive I offer an intuitive perspective.  We each create our own reality and can create whatever we want.   When we don’t create then things will keep happening.  It is our choice to create our reality or just experience what’s out there.

I know this is hard to wrap your head around because our whole lives we have been taught to see life from an atheist perspective.  From this perspective everything that exists is, for the most part, beyond our control.  To be successful a change in thinking and perspective is required.  Success happens when we embrace being the creator of our reality.

When we turn our heads around and change our thinking we can change everything.  You can begin by imaging how you would create your life if you understood yourself to be the creator.  A creator, what did you have in mind?   I don’t mean the fantasies we all have.  The real question is what would you like to be, do and have.

Try the following intuitive exercise to experience yourself as a creator.  If this works for you then use it for other aspects of your life.

Intuitive Exercise: Find a quiet place and take the time to go within.  Meditation is a great way to do this. A quiet space of contemplation will do.

Close your eyes and be aware of gathering your attention and your awareness onto yourself. Breathe and relax.

Now be aware of one issue in your life that is not working for you.  Stop thinking about it and instead imagine your preferred solution or vision of this issue.  Imagine it in your minds-eye.  Imagine seeing the outcome in a new way?

Do not think of solutions.  Just imagine a different scenario.  See it intuitively.   Keep imagining until you can clearly see your preferred vision of the situation.

In this process you will notice thoughts, concepts and emotions you have and can let go of in order for your preferred vision to take hold.  Breathe and release.

Keep looking, breathing and imaging until you see it clearly.  When you can see the situation in the way you would like it play out then your meditation is done!  Your problem has been solved.  Watch for the evidence of this with great enthusiasm.

If you were unable to see or imagine you preferred outcome there is energy in you about the issue.  Let me know if you would like further insight into this.

Why don’t things go as planned?

Meditation - part of a business plan

Meditation - part of a business plan

We all want to be successful. We think through and create a very grounded professional or business plan then work that plan everyday.  So why don’t things do as planned?  When we assume that it is all beyond our control we are dead wrong!   Opening to our intuition allows to see beyond what is obvious and visible to find these answers.  There are no coincidences.

For example, everyday our experiences create responses and reactions whether they are good or bad.   These experiences create thoughts, ideas, emotions, etc. that may or may not support our plan.  Things hang with us. We hold onto things.  Things stick with us.  These are all familiar terms that describe the effect of our daily experiences.

When we carry anything from one day to the next it becomes part of us and the fabric of our life.  This is true for energies that we enjoy as well as those that we don’t.   A bad meeting, conversation or phone call can stick with us, influence our thinking and set us off course.  Often this is all happening our awareness of the effect the energy is having on our success.

One of my clients had a very difficult conversation with one of his clients this week.  I saw that if he held the energy of this conversation in his space it would destroy the contract.  On the other hand if he cleared the concepts and energies this experience stimulated for him then he had the opportunity to re-set his communication and agreement with his client.

These kinds of experiences are part of doing business which is why, as a business intuitive, I encourage all my clients to make meditation part of their daily business plan.  In meditation you find a place of quiet to review yesterday and today.  You become aware of the energy and pictures you are holding onto and will get in the way of your goals and your plan for your business.  Once you are aware you can decide to release anything that does not serve you.  Finally, you can  reset and recreate your vision for today, the week and your success.

Try this for yourself.  If you are not sure how to meditate join me for an online meditation any Monday.

When you cannot decide!

swirl blue purple orange croppedOne of the best times to use your intuition is when you cannot decide, the answers you are looking for are not obvious or your find yourself successfully defending both sides of your own argument!  You have been thinking, discussing it with others and still you cannot tell the right way to go or which decision to make.  This is the time to stop thinking!  Sometimes logic cannot provide our answers either because we are not neutral to the issue, our own thoughts and emotions cloud our thinking.  Sometimes we cannot decide because of the pressures from other people or competing interests.

I was on the way back from a salon at the home of a Silicon Valley executive and his wife.  My friend had run into one of her clients at the salon last month and again this day.  She was very confused how she should interact with this very high profile client in this informal and somewhat personal event.  I listened as she explained all the options she could think of.  It was clearly a professional challenge that could have huge financial impact.  She was confused, conflicted and worried.  What if she approaches him the wrong way?  What if she reads his communication incorrectly?  What if….  She was wearing herself out.

A client of mine was in a similar state of confusion.  She is transitioning in her career, sees a number of choices, can argue each of them convincingly only to confuse herself more.  She thought, argued, discussed all to no avail.  She could not decide and could not find a logical solution.  This was creating great stress.

These scenarios are very common.  The specifics may be different but each of us has been in a situation where all the logic in the world was not going to give us the answer.  For me, as a business intuitive, answers to these situations are easily found by opening to our intuition.   Using intuition is a way of gaining perspective and finding enough separation to see more clearly.

Here is a simple intuitive exercise you can use when you are confused or cannot decide.

  • Find a time and place to sit and quiet yourself.
  • Close your eyes, breathe deeply and begin to release all the effort you are experiencing.  Relax and release.
  • Bring your attention and your awareness inward, behind your eyes.  Breathe deeply and release.
  • Begin to clear your mind.  Try to stop thinking so that you can open to your intuition.
  • Simply open your awareness.  Begin to notice, see, listen and know intuitively.
  • Once you are quiet, imagine seeing a symbol out in front of you.  See it or imagine it with your minds eye .  I suggest a rose but any symbol will work.
  • Now imagine placing your question in that symbol.  This keeps your from thinking.
  • Without thinking open to what you see, hear and know.

If you are able to follow these steps you will get your answer and you will know.

The new millennium and business in sync!

Abstract 3D Hourglass Times are a changin!  We are in the tenth year of the new millennium, the millennium of the “2”.  That may not mean much to you at first but from an intuitive perspective it represents a significant change that everyone is experiencing.  Concepts that drove the last millennium (1 –1999), the millennium of the “1”, were the importance of being first, on top, the best, faster, bigger, more, etc.  This last millennium was dominated by male concepts that brought us tremendous growth, expansion, advancement, competition and success.

The current millennium is a shift in a naturally occurring cycle to new concepts of success stemming from feminine principles that include collaboration, cooperation, the common good, working in Circles, etc.  In this millennium successful businesses focus on what they value, relationships and the impact of their business on others. We are more globally and environmentally conscious. Success is created with these ideas in mind.

Companies that are out of sync with the energy of this millennium will have a hard time surviving.  We are seeing evidence of this all around. The old ways of doing business won’t work, as they are going “against the grain” and “out of sync” with the current trends or cycle. Edgar R. Dewey, Chief Economic Analyst of the Department of Commerce in 1930, was appointed to investigate the causes of the stock market crash of 1929.  He found the crash was a naturally occurring cycle.  He describes the concept and impact of cycles in his book by the same name, “Cycles”.

So where does this lead us?  Notice the trends and changes in the business climate.  There are no coincidences as we are in a new cycle.  We have been witnessing the breakdown of old ways of doing business.  Old values and priorities won’t bring the same results this time around.  Successful business owners are watching intuitively and developing strategies to fit this new cycle.  In many ways they are “going with the flow” and not fighting the trends.  Open your intuition to be aware, letting go of old concepts that worked in the past but no longer.  This brings us to what I consider the most important intuitive concept for business success – be in the present moment, be aware and create from here.

Fix the door to get your business moving

Red cutters and an earphoneYes, I mean fix the door.  When your business is slowing down you can look for all the logical reasons why that is.  Sometimes the cause has nothing to do with your business but with another aspect of your life.  From an intuitive perspective our business is not separate from us.  It is part of who we are and what we are creating.  Intuitively I see that every aspect of our lives, our relationships, health, home, family, etc. affects the other.

This could be a very long blog but let’s focus on one aspect. The phone has stopped ringing, new contracts are slow to materialize, you are doing everything right from a business perspective so what’s in the way.  As a business intuitive I hear this question often.  My first suggestion is to look around at your life.  Where in your life are you not in communication with someone?  What in your house is bothering you?  What is broken that you have not taken the time to fix it?  How are you doing personally, emotionally, and spiritually?  Is there something in your personal life that you have not taken care of?

This idea is not so far fetched.  One client, John, president of large investment firm, saw a sudden drop in investments. During our consultation I saw that he was having a difficult time communicating with his 20 yr. daughter.  The energy in his space said “Don’t communicate!”   This energy was effecting at work. No one was communicating with him.  I suggested he contact his daughter to clear their communication.  He did and coincidentally his business clients started calling again.

Another client, Michael, who owns a chain of retail stores, saw his sales plummet.  During his consultation I saw that something was broken in his home.  He acknowledged that the supports for his deck were in disrepair but he had not gotten around to having them fixed.  The energy of things being broken was in his space.  Michael did not quite buy the idea that his deck had anything to do with the sales in his stores but just in case, he went ahead and had his deck repaired.  After the work was completed he called to say that he did not know what affect this would have on his business but he sure felt a lot better personally.  He had no idea the weight (the energy) this had created for him.  As you may guess sales went back up as well.  There are no coincidences.

So take a look around at your work, home, relationships, health, etc.  Notice the one thing that most weighs on you and take care of it.  Then take care of the next thing that weighs on you and so on.  For a business to be successful we have to keep the energy moving in all aspects of our lives.

Best wishes for your success, Kay

Stay the Course!

dreamstimefree_roadI just have to tell you Susan’s story because it is so familiar and I see it so often.  Susan is an amazingly capable professional working for a large national organization.  In recent years she began to feel dissatisfied with her work not because there was anything wrong with it but more that she was ready for new challenges and to move closer to her next dream job.

No Idea!

With that in mind Susan contacted me to assist her with this transition.  She had no idea where or what that dream job was.   I guided through intuitive meditation to begin to imagine this dream job.  All the thinking and logic in the world was not working for her so an intuitive approach seemed right to her.

Her Vision

Susan did not know the exact job that she wanted but she was very clear about components of the job, the talents she wanted to use and new areas of growth and challenge.  With that awareness I guided her in meditation regularly as a way of manifesting this vision.

Creating A Plan

A week or so after she created her vision she decided a move to Denver was part of her vision.  She reached out to some contacts in that area telling them of her interested in finding a new job in the Denver area and could they help.  In a very short time, maybe a week or two, she received a call for an interview for a position that far exceeded her expectations.  Suddenly she was very uncertain.  Was this too big a step?  Was it the right step?

Don’t Question

This next part is important and a critical intuitive principle.  Don’t answer these questions!  Susan would just make herself crazy logically arguing one side or another.  I advised Susan to go back into meditation and focus on her original vision.  Seeing this vision in her minds eye is calming and brings her goals into perspective.  In this way the answers are obvious.  There are no competing options.

Manifesting

Susan is in Denver interviewing as one step has led to another without any effort on her part.  Susan described this morning, “It is as if my vision is simply unfolding in front of my very eyes.  It is scary and wonderful at the same time.”

Intuitive Exercise

The intuitive technique I worked with Susan is simple.  Go into meditation so that you can become quiet, stop thinking and open to your inner voice and intuition.  Visualize a goal you would like to manifest.  Don’t think.  See the goal in your minds eye.   Take a deep breath.  Now let that goal manifest.  Clear seeing is the key.

Best wishes on your success.

Kay

The courage to succeed!

dreamstime_leapYesterday I was mentoring the owner of an interior design firm.  She was ready to take her business to the next level.  Issues she wanted to address were the addition of new staff, new office space, implementing a new marketing plan,  etc.  I saw intuitively that she was smart, had clear goals and understood the importance of having a clear vision.  I also saw that her business plan was ready to move forward.

What is Courage?

This is the same point where many with a strong vision get stuck.  To manifest a vision takes great courage.  From an intuitive perspective having courage means bringing the information in the first chakra (fear and survival instincts) into communication with the sixth and seventh chakras (clear vision and certainty).

Finding Your Courage

Engaging the first chakra means a willingness to allow change but also the willingness to take risk but not at all cost.  When you have a strong and clear vision and you are focused on this vision then the risk is worth taking.  Nonetheless it can be scary.

When we avoid engaging our courage then the goals that challenge us the most don’t move forward.  Try the exercise below to engage your courage.

Intuitive Exercise

Create a space of quiet.  Close your eyes and go within.  Take a deep breath and release.  Now imagine one of your goals in your minds eye.  See it clearly.  Don’t think.  See.

Now decide to have your goal.  See yourself having it and what it would take to have it.  Notice your competing thoughts or pictures.  Acknowledge any discomfort, fear or resistance to manifesting this goal.  Now take deep breath and release the fear knowing it is a natural reaction to change and does not mean you can’t. Notice the fear in the first chakra and decide to engage the fear to find your courage.   Continue until you find the resolve and experience the courage to manifest your goal.

Best wishes on achieving your goals,

Kay

Multi-tasking is in your way!

multitaskingResearchers at Stanford University published a study showing that the most persistent multi-taskers perform badly in a variety of tasks.  As an intuitive I agree with the results of this study and see this from a different perspective.  I have observed the importance of focus in achieving success and multitasking gets in the way of that because it scatters our energy and attention.

To those of us who have always been proud multi-taskers this a big blow!

Effect of Multi-Tasking

When we focus on our goals and the essential steps to get there we find success.  When our attention is divided, as in the case of multitasking, two things happen:

* Our energy is divided so no one goal has enough energy to manifest fully

* The vision of our success is diminished because we have other things in our mind’s eye as well

Importance of Focus

As a business intuitive I have also observed the effect of multitasking on the ability to create success. When we focus on our goals, our business plan, are not distracted and our attention is on this vision then our life force energy is not divided in multiple directions.  With focus we create success.

In the end we want to see our vision of success clearly, know the steps to get there then focus on our vision and take these steps.  The more focused we are the more successful we become.

Being grounded and centered in ourselves helps us to limit the urge to multi-task.  Try this intuitive exercise every time you feel the need or find yourself multitasking rather than focusing on your goals.

Intuitive Exercise

Find a place to sit.  Close your eyes. Take a deep breath and release.  Repeat the breathing until you feel yourself begin to relax.  Bring your attention and awareness onto yourself.  Begin to imagine the most important goal you are trying to achieve right now.  See it or imagine it.

Imagine bringing your energy and awareness off anything and everything that is grabbing your attention.   Focus on your goal.

See the steps to achieve this goal.  Take a deep breath and release.  Decide the step you want to focus on right now.  Open your eyes.  Take a deep breath.  Now focus that step.

Best,

Kay

Gut Reactions Misunderstood!

0028MasterFileWhat are gut feelings?

There are several different intuitive abilities.  They each have their place in our work and our business.  Let’s look at the most misunderstood of the seven intuitive abilities, the infamous “gut feelings”.

Each of us has experienced gut feelings but may not know how to use this information.   First be aware that I am referring literally to feelings in the gut.  This is not the same as feelings in the heart, the first chakra (fear) or other intuitive feelings.

How to use gut feelings?

Gut feelings are automatic responses to unknown (or unconscious) information or energy.  As a rule if it feels right, in your gut, then you may feel comfortable in proceeding.  If, on the other hand, something does not feel right then it’s NOT.  Consider this a red flag!  When something does not feel right in your gut then you may want to stop, step back, gather more information, ask more questions and gain perspective.  Gaining perspective means to get out of the energy of the situation so that you can think (logically) and see (intuitively) more clearly.

What creates gut feelings?

At times we experience being pressured, influenced or someone is running all his or her energy through our space to do something, to make a decision, and move in a particular direction.  When this happens there is so much of his or her energy in our space we loose our awareness or perspective.  Stepping back and making separation from this energy is a way of seeing more clearly.

Story of a Business Consultation

One of my clients was about to sign the sale of her business but something did not feel right.  There was a great deal of pressure from everyone for her to sign it and sign now.  It took great courage for her to stop, step back and ask to take time to review the sale agreement again though she had reviewed it numerous times.  Kathy called me with her concern.  She felt in her gut that something was not right.  I looked at her contract intuitively and saw energy in the last paragraph.  With this she went back to her lawyer to review the agreement again.  They found a phrase they did not notice before that was not in her favor.  They proposed a change and the contract was signed.

Gut feelings are not for decision making!

Once you clear your space and get clear-headed then you are able to make a more grounded decision based on information rather than in response to the energy, pressure or demands in our space.

In general one should not make decisions based on gut feelings.   Gut feelings are intuitive reactions to energy not fact or information.  Gut feelings are one of the intuitive abilities we have for evaluating a situation and our options.  It is important to pay attention to gut feelings in all situations, when you enter a room, participate in a meeting, are making a decision, listening as someone speaks, etc.

How do you experience or use gut feelings in your work or life?

Oops! Your aura is showing.

200469161-001As business owners we work hard to create good impressions and cannot afford a bad one. We pay attention to our branding, our marketing materials, office space, physical appearance, cars and more. Image and impressions are everything!

Our clients and customers are intuitive. This means they are forming impressions from these tangible aspects of our business but also from the intangible. Customers automatically and, for the most part, unconsciously read and respond to our energy and the energy in our space, the aura or energy field around us. This can make or break a sale or a contract.

Intuitive Story The owner of a large office in Walnut Creek walked away from signing a contract for the delivery of office supplies to all four of his locations in the Bay Area. I asked Jim why, at the last moment, he backed out. He could not give a logical explanation saying only that he felt so uncomfortable with the sales rep on that particular day that he could not proceed. He said something did not feel right. Now I was not at this meeting nor I do I know the sales rep but as a business intuitive my reading is the sales rep had something quite personal on his mind. This personal issue created energy in his space and it made Jim uncomfortable.

Impressions Far fetched? Not at all! Each of us has a story to tell about the time when something did not feel right or when we went into a meeting with an important client with something else on our mind. Nine out ten times your story ends with the sale falling through. The energy from our experiences sits in our space, our aura. Others consciously or unconsciously feel or see this vibration and react.

Your Space If you have a disagreement with someone and go into a meeting with a potential client, the energy of that disagreement most likely is still in your space. It is natural for others to unconsciously respond or react to this. With this in mind, being aware of the energy we carry in our aura is important to our success. Knowing how to clear and re-set our aura (energy) is a step in preparing for meetings and conversations with others. Try this intuitive exercise before your next meeting or call.

Intuitive Exercise Take a moment to stop. Sit down if possible. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath and release. Begin to quiet your body. Bring your focus and awareness onto yourself. Notice how you are doing. What is on your mind? Imagine releasing and letting go of these distractions. Bring your attention and energy off these distractions. Take a deep breath and release any energy or emotion you are holding onto. Repeat until you are feel clear of energies and emotions that may give a bad impression or that you don’t want to bring into the conversation.

Next Step The next step is re-setting your space. Watch for this in another blog. Have a great day!

EGO in the way!

lotus-flowerEgo was the driving force behind businesses in the last century.   That is all changing as the culture of business changes.  Success today comes from a more value based and socially conscious model, providing a good product or service to the benefit of customers and clients.

How Ego Is Created

From an intuitive perspective ego is formed when we create pictures or thoughts about ourselves based on what we think we should be, to keep up with others, to put on a good impression, etc.  These pictures sit in our aura, the energy field around us.   Others see these pictures intuitively and believe this is who we are.  Suddenly it becomes important to sustain these pictures, this ego. We begin to act as if this who we really are.  We act and react in response to this ego and these pictures.  Think of ego, as is a false sense of self that reacts when we feel our self-image is threatened.  When we live in our ego it affects our work, our personal life and our wellness. More importantly we loose our sense of self.

Effect of Ego

Our ability to do our work is affected by our ego as it clouds our awareness and creates uninformed automatic responses.   We can each make a long list of successful business owners and professionals who lost all sense of themselves when they became their ego. They also lost their perspective resulting in poor choices and decisions that harmed them, their company and often their families.  To get out of ego means to act and respond from our own clear and conscious understanding of who we are, what we value in relationship to the situation.

We all have an ego.  The control this has over us varies from one to the other.  The key is to become aware of when we are acting, reacting or making decisions from our ego and when we are operating from our authentic self.

Intuitive Exercise

Try this intuitive exercise when you feel that ego is behind your actions or reactions.

  • Take a moment to pause.
  • Be grounded.
  • Find your center – the center of your head.
  • Take a deep breath and release whatever you are holding, defending or protecting.
  • Notice what is on your mind and your reactions.
  • Imagine pulling your energy and your awareness out of the ego, the false pictures in your aura.
  • Bring your attention and awareness even more to the center of your head.
  • Be aware of yourself and how you are feeling.
  • Breathe.  Release.
  • Find a neutral perspective.
  • Now consciously change your energy and your space to fit who you are and what you value.
  • When you feel your energy is reset then you are ready to re-engage the question or issue before you.

When we can get out of our ego then we can stay connected to our authentic self to create a successful business or career.

Hey! Where Am I?

0032PhotonicaFor the most part we have our attention in the future, our plans for today, this week, this year, our vision of success and more.   Having a clear vision is a very important aspect of creating.  We cannot manifest without this.

Be in the Moment

The other aspect of creating is the ability to be in the moment.  When we have a vision we tend to put our attention and awareness in the future.   This tendency to be IN the future actually keeps our goals beyond our reach because we imagine them there and have our energy there.   In this way a goal will be forever in the future.

Achieve Goals Now!

To achieve our goals means to have a clear vision then be sure that our attention, awareness and energy are completely in the moment.  Our attention and energy in the future whether that means in the next moment or the next year makes us feel scattered or out of it!  This is a clear sign that we are not in the moment.

Intuitive Consult

As a business intuitive this is one of the most common areas of focus.  Intuitively I can see the effect being in the future has on my clients’ business success.  When they are not in the moment then their success is always in the future.  Jeff was a new client.  He was doing all the right things.  He had a great business plan, a sound product and good business sense yet his company was not taking off like he had imagined.  When I looked at Jeff’s energy intuitively I saw that 80% of his energy was in the future, in his vision and out of present time.

Using meditation I taught Jeff to be in present time.  This was quite difficult for him at first because he was so used to being out in front of himself.  He said it even felt uncomfortable to bring his attention into the center of his head.  After about a week of practicing being in present time his business started to take off exactly how he imagined it would.  Is this a coincidence?

Intuitive Exercise

I recommend taking time throughout the day to simply stop.  Take a deep breath.  Close your eyes.  Imagine bringing all your attention and your awareness into the center of your head.  In this way you become centered in present time.

Notice how this feels.  Notice how far out of it you are, meaning out of the center of your head and out of the moment.  Spend the time it takes to be centered completely in present time.  Use your intuition to become aware of where you are.   Repeat this exercise several times a day until you know that you are in the moment.

Best wishes on your success!

Multi-Tasking or Being Successful!

multitaskingAs an intuitive I pay attention to how we use our energy and if we are achieving our goals.  Those who are most successful are those who have the greatest ability to focus.

For many being BUSY and multi-tasking gives a great sense of satisfaction.  This does not, however, translate into success.  A study just came out of Stanford University on multi-taskers. “When they’re in situations where there are multiple sources of information coming from the external world or emerging out of memory, they’re not able to filter out what’s not relevant to their current goal,” said Wagner, an associate professor of psychology. “That failure to filter means they’re slowed down by that irrelevant information.”

To be successful our energy must be focused and directed to the specific actions designed to achieve our goals.  Knowing are vision of success and creating a plan to get there are the first two steps.  Now we have to ground our energy so that we can focus on our plan and not be distracted.

Sometimes we are just distracted by whatever grabs our attention or is on our mind.  Others may grab our attention to become involved in something of their choosing.  In any case, we are quickly off focus or multi-tasking.

When you focus 100% of your energy and attention on the vision of your success it will manifest.  On the other hand if you have a vision of success then you focus your energy not only on your vision but many other things then your vision has less energy to manifest.  Multi-tasking disperses your energy such that your efforts are scattered.   You may experience your successes being scattered.

Try this intuitive exercise to ground your energy and focus before you find yourself involved in multi-tasking or doing tasks that are not essential to achieving your goals.

At the beginning of each day take the time to meditate.

Close your eyes.  Take a deep breath and ground yourself.  Bring your attention into the center of your head.

See in your mind’s eye.  Don’t think.  See your vision of success.   See the steps you can take today to manifest this vision.

Stay in meditation until you have a clear vision for the day and you feel grounded in this plan.

Notice when you start to multi-task and refocus on steps to achieve your goals.

Success Now!

dreamstimefree_successMost see success as something that will happen in the future.  “I will be successful.” Or we believe that when this or that happens then “I will be successful!”  We create in our mind ideas that limit our success. We get in our own way.  Whatever we believe or imagine is exactly what happens thus success is always in the future or our success depends on one thing or another happening first.

Our Thoughts About Success

As a business intuitive I see that success is an energy vibration in your space.  Either you are vibrating at success or you are not.   I can see when a business owner or professional has created the idea  (thought or picture) of success happening later.  None of these ideas are, in fact, true.  They are simply our ideas of how success works.   If we change our ideas, thoughts or pictures we change our reality.  We can be at the energy level of success at anytime so why not now!

Your Vision of Success

We create success whenever we decide to do so.  We can decide to create success NOW!  It begins by having a clear vision of what we see (imagine) our success to be.  For each of us this will be different.  I suggest including all aspects of your life in this vision.   Meditate and see your vision in your mind’s eye.  Do not think about it or try to be logical.  Simply imagine success. There is time for logic but not at first.

Once you see clearly what success is to you then decide to begin and be successful starting now.  Begin by setting your work in a successful way and set the vibration of your business as a success.

Be Successful Now

The most important aspect is to do this now!  Be successful now!   See your success happening today.  Everything that you do, every step you take big or small do it successfully.  A profession or business builds rapidly from being successful now, in present time.

Intuitive Exercise

Try this intuitive exercise.   Before you begin each day take time to meditate even if for only a few minutes.

Stop and quiet yourself.  Close your eyes and decide to set your space to the vibration of success that day.  Notice what you have planned.  Rethink your plan if it is not focused on your success.  Eliminate anything that distracts you from your vision of success. Now decide to be successful today in whatever you have do.

Notice how each and every day builds a stronger vibration of success.

The Circle of Your Success!

You know your vision of success.  Have you shared this?  Who else knows? How many people are in agreement with you?  As an intuitive I see what happens to the energy of your success when you:

  • Keep your vision to yourself
  • Share your vision others
  • Ask others to support your vision of success

Keeping it to yourself

When you keep your vision to yourself it stays within you and, therefore, never fully manifests.  You are holding it back.   When you are the only one who knows your vision the vibration may not be strong enough to manifest.

Your vision is a precious creation that carries with it the energy of who you are emotionally, professionally and spiritually.  This is the reason so many keep it to themselves. We do this to protect our vision from invalidation, competition, judgment, etc. This is understandable but it creates limits. It takes great courage and certainty to tell others your creative idea.

Sharing your vision

When you share your vision it moves from within you to a place in the world.  Others add their agreement.  Now your vision is stronger, strengthened by the energy of those who are in agreement and support you.  I am not speaking logically rather from what I can see intuitively – clairvoyantly.

There are considerations.  It is important to share you vision but not with just anyone. Choose wisely.  Choose those who you see intuitively will respect and validate your idea.  This may include a family member, a friend, another business owner or professional, a supportive group, etc.

Asking for support

The next level of support is the very important circle of support. Your circle may include selected family, friends, staff, consultants (accountant, banker, webmaster, coach, etc.) and other professionals whose wisdom, knowledge and support you respect. Invite those who have expertise that could support you and your business.  Consider these individuals your Circle of Support, a formal or informal group of advisors that you can call upon.

On the other side if you have others in your business or associated with your business that do not support your success their energy has the opposite effect.  It diminishes the vibration of your success.  Create change so all those around you are in agreement with your success.

Summary

The vibration of your success is much greater with the support and agreement of others.  Notice how comfortable you are with sharing your vision and asking for help or clear council from others.  On an energy level success comes when we can receive.  Success is the vibration of energy bringing to us what we desire.  Asking for support is the same energy. It is the act of receiving.

Take a step today.  Share your vision of success and create a circle of support.

Pain Body or Success? Your Choice!

I work with business owners and professionals as a business intuitive. My goal includes drawing them out of pain so they can create success. I don’t actually say that in sessions but it is exactly what happens.

Out of Pain

It is easy to know when you are in your “pain body”. You notice problems, feel disappointment, are frustrated and only see obstacles. When I work with someone I communicate to their creative space (spiritual body) to bring them out of their “pain body”. Those who can change their space to creativity are able to manifest their vision of success.

Into Creativity

Most of my clients enthusiastically move out of pain to the vibration of ALL THINGS POSSIBLE. Some want to solve, heal or fix their pain not realizing that pain is natural part of being human. How much time we sit in pain versus creativity is a simple matter of free will.  The pain-creativity dichotomy is one in which we can decide which side we want to be. For example, two of my clients are simply more comfortable in pain than they are in creativity. This is their choice though it may not be a conscious one. We are all different. Everyone is getting his or her goal, which may not be success.

Freedom to Create

We all slip into our pain body now and again when an experience or memory re-stimulates it. Actually reading this blog may stimulate your pain body!  Oops!  There are many answers here. It is not a problem to move into our pain body. The key is our ability to slip into our pain body then to be able to move back out at will.

If your choice is to create then you can change your space and your energy to ALL THINGS POSSIBLE, a higher vibration than pain. Success manifests from creativity. Hard work, no work, unsatisfying work, etc. manifest from pain.

Below is an intuitive exercise you can use to move from your pain body to creativity (spiritual body).

Intuitive Exercise

Take the time to meditate. Quiet your body. Quiet your mind.

Notice where you are. Are you in your “pain body” or success? Wherever you are determines what you will experience in your business, profession and life in general. If you find you are in your pain body don’t think or analyze this. Simply ask yourself intuitively, “Why am I in my pain body?” Open to your intuition to hear the answer.

Now move out of pain and into enthusiasm, amusement and creativity. When you feel the energy of possibilities you are in creativity. If you feel unclear, uncertain, frustrated, you are still in pain so keep moving your energy to amusement, enthusiasm, etc. Repeat often.  Anytime you find that your creations have stopped take the time to meditate and move from pain to success!

Best wishes on your success,

Kay

You Are Not Your Business or Your Work!

We are busy creating our success in our business or profession.  We put so much energy into this that in the end more of our energy is focused on our work than on ourselves.   It appears this is changing.  More men and women are creating space in their lives to experience and validate all aspects of who they are.  Owning a company or having a career is no longer the most important or only important part of our existence.

Professional Expert and An Athlete

I have one client who has worked very hard to create her professional identity.  She is successful, recognized and the recipient of many awards.    On the other hand she has lost herself in her efforts to be at the top of her field.  Another client quit his career as a professional athlete because he wondered who he was aside from his on field performance.  He wondered if anyone would like him without all the fame and fortune so he quit to find out.

Each of these professionals is in a different place.  One is defining who she is through her work and has lost her sense of herself.  The other has stepped out of his professional to find himself.  Is there some place in between?   Can we be successful business owners and professionals without loosing awareness of ourselves?  The answer is obvious, of course, but it is not easy.   We have been taught to work for validation through what we do rather than who we are.

We are expected to perform, to succeed, etc.  It is what we do that matters.  It does not have to be that way.  It is more natural to create our work from a clear awareness of who we are.  Our work can manifest from this awareness.

How Do You Define Yourself?

Consider what you would tell someone if asked about yourself.  What would you say?    Do you find yourself saying more about what you do than who you are?  This is a simple exercise to show where you are in your awareness of who you are?

Meditation

Meditation is a simple way to separate from our work for a time and focus on who we are at our core, what we value and what is important to us.  Focusing in this way keeps us clear about where we have been, where we are now and where we are going.

Heal the Past to Create in the Present!

Creating success is something that we are doing NOW, today, at this moment.  It is not something in the future.   We tend to see our vision of success in the future when we have the energy of disappointment, invalidation or uncertainty somewhere in the past.  This is not logical but it is very intuitive.

Why the Future?

It is easy to reveal if this is the case.  Simply go into meditation.  Quiet the mind.  Stop thinking and imagine your vision of success.  Now be really aware of any thoughts, emotions or reactions you have to your own vision.  Perhaps you know what you want but have doubts, believe one thing or another has to happen first, worry that it won’t happen or can only see it happening in the future.

These are all indications of energy stuck in your space around an issue, experience or memory in the past. We leave our energy in a past experience when we have not completely healed or let go of the effect that experience had on us personally, professionally or spiritually.

Sara’ Story

One of my clients, Sara, is incredibly smart, talented, creative and ready to start a new business.  Her vision and planning are impeccable.  Sara is ready to create the success of this company.  Week after week I see her do things that keep her business from moving forward.  Why would such a capable businesswoman do this?  Sara asked for my insight on what was holding her back.   I saw intuitively the energy of another business she started with great success years ago.  That business crashed.  She lost everything.  Since that time she has re-established her financial health and is in a place to create again.

The effect that experience had on her personally, professionally and spiritually sat in her space as energy of complete fear.   She did not know what caused the failure and feared it would happen again.   As an intuitive my question is not why did that happen but rather why did she create that to happen?

I guided Sara through a meditation to let go of her fear, bring her energy out of the past so that she could create in present time.  We looked at why she created the failure of the last company.  It was a very labor-intensive product that consumed more of her time than she had originally imagined.  She was not happy.  Sara could not quit because of  her investors so the only way out was for the business to fail.  She did not consciously make it fail but when we have a vision it begins to manifest.  Her wish to get out of a business but she could not so her vision manifested the only way it could.  Her business failed.  Remember the adage, “Be careful what you pray for.”

Heal the Past

Creating in present time requires enough, if not all, of your life force.  Calling your energy back from the past makes it easier to create now.

Take time to meditate.  Imagine calling back your energy from the past. Simply imaging letting go, bringing your energy and attention into the present.  Repeat as often as necessary.   Now, see your goals and success manifesting in present time.

Getting Out of Our Own Way and Allowing Success

There is a difference between our vision of success and our thoughts.  Our vision is creative but so are our thoughts.  Being aware of the thoughts we have about our vision and our goals (personal, professional, etc.) will make all the difference.

For example, your vision is to double your revenue in 2010 and within one second your thought is “But that won’t happen!”   Your thought just replaced your vision.

Another example, I was working with a client, Karen, this morning.  She is planning to move her offices and she was feeling stressed about finding the right fit for her business.  She did not believe she could have what she wanted.  As an intuitive I know everything we experience is the result of our vision, our thoughts or others thoughts.  My focus is always to help you find and see your vision.

Compromising Your Vision

I asked  Karen to describe her vision of the new office space.  I expected to hear her vision for her company and how this new space would support her goals for the next 5 – 10 years.   She began to tell me what she wanted then immediately describe all the compromises she would need to make.  Why did she believe she had to compromise?  As I listened to her intuitively I saw her deciding and believing what she wanted could not happen and so she was creating a vision that “would do”.

As a business intuitive I urge my clients to notice when they are creating their vision and when they are creating something as a result of the energy in their space.  It took time working with Karen to create a clear and true vision of the new office space based on what she really wanted.  During the process I worked with her to recognize, release and clear all the pictures and energy that were in her way.

Thoughts That Argue

If you notice carefully you will find this for yourself.  Bring to mind one of your goals or visions and notice that within seconds the mind and your thoughts will come up with 20,000 reasons why it can’t happen exactly as you want it to.  These are false thoughts though it is our tendency to pay more attention to these than our vision.  This is how we get in our own way.

Hold Your Vision Exercise

From the an intuitive perspective success comes from having a clear vision of what you want without knowing at this point how to get there.  Just create and see your vision.  Release and let go of any thoughts that fight or want to alter your vision.  Hold your vision then allow your success to manifest.

Best wishes on your success,

Kay

Create Success NOW – Not in the future

clock

You have a clear vision of your success!  You have a plan to get there.   Business owners and professionals often tell me they are doing all the right things so ” WHY is my vision not manifesting as they had envisioned it?”  Our success is always manifesting precisely as we imagine it.

Expect Success NOW!

As a business intuitive I often see the thoughts a person has about their success. They may not be aware as these thoughts may be in the back of their mind. They may have feelings that are just below the surface.  I find that business owners who see their success happening NOW see their success growing.  Successful business owners fully expect to experience their success everyday!

Success Come From Within

I have seen very talented business owners and professionals with great plans and even a lot of cash not create success simply because they envision success in the future.  This is simply false thinking, programming to see success in the future or it comes from invalidation and fear.  That may be the fear of failure or not being able to succeed.  For others it is the fear of success.  There are many more possibilities.

Stephen

One of my clients, Stephen, wanted to perform on Broadway.  He arranged intuitive business mentoring with me to achieve this goal.   So far this goal was just not happening. The first step was for Stephen to create a clear vision of his success on Broadway.  Soon after his vision began to manifest.  He auditioned in San Francisco for a major musical.  He did so well they asked him to audition in LA for the national touring group.  This audition also went well.  He was asked to fly to New York to audition for the Broadway show.  It was at this point that Stephen found his fears.  He was in fear of this step and all the changes it would bring in this life.

Sara

Sara grew up in a family that loved boats so when the opportunity to buy a company that sold high-end yachts presented itself she jumped at the chance.  She invested all the money she had and that she could borrow into the purchase of this business.  In addition to her love of boats, Sara was also very business savvy, disciplined, organized, etc. and yet her business was not moving forward as she imagined it.  During an intuitive consultation I saw a picture in her space that said she was too young, too new in the industry that she would have to put in her time before the money would flow.  When I told her what I saw she laughed because she knew these thoughts were in the back of her mind.  She cleared her thinking and her business immediately began to turn around.

Your Vision of Success Now!

Notice for yourself.   Do you imagine your success as “Just around the corner”?  Do you see it happening in the future?  Do you believe that you are not ready for your success?  Perhaps you believe that this or that has to happen before you can have your success?  In all these beliefs we are keeping success from happening NOW!

Intuitive Exercise

Success is not a mystery that only a few have the key to.  Success can often be a journey in self-awareness.  Knowing what you want is the first step.  Seeing it in your mind’s eye is next.  Now notice your thoughts and feeling about your vision.

Take the time to meditate.  Notice your thoughts about when you imagine your success happening. Clear your thinking and see your vision of success happening NOW!

Best wishes on your success!

Calling in Your Clients/Customers

Clients, customers, patients, etc. are the core of any business or work that we do.  You already know many tried and true ways of generating new business and retaining existing customers.   In this blog I want to add to the discussion and offer an intuitive approach.  As always the intuitive perspective is not a logical one.  It is the other side of our brain.

Our own thoughts and beliefs or even fears define our success.

Ted

One of my clients, Ted, owns an event planning company.  He has been quite successful in the past; work just seemed to come his way.  Last year that was the case.  For the first time he has to generate new business and find new clients.  He was great at creating an event but in complete fear about generating new clients.

Sara

Sara called me recently. She is an interior designer who has also been quite successful.  One client referred another and her company had as many clients as they could handle.  Sara took off last year to travel and to buy furniture and artifacts for her clients.  It was, in a way, a time of renewal for her.  When she returned her clients seem to have disappeared.  For the first time she finds herself needing clients.  Sara was uncertain about how to begin.

Create A Vision of Your ideal Client

Whether you are just starting your business or profession or have been at it for years generating new business is part of the game.  As a business intuitive I begin by looking at your vision of your clients/customers.  How clear is this vision?  Ted and Sara, never really looked at that because work just came to them.  Having a clear vision (in your mind’s eye) is the first step.  If you can’t see it, it won’t happen.

Stop Thinking

When creating your vision you want to be out  of your mind!  By that I mean, don’t think.  Imagine.  Thinking is not creative.  Imagining is.  This is a basic intuitive principle and you will read this in each of my blogs.  The only way I know to get out of my mind and focus on clear seeing is through meditation, which is why I recommend it so strongly.

Take the time to meditate

Take the time to create a clear vision of your customers.  Imagine new business coming your way. Be specific. How many new clients do you imagine?   Can you imagine or see this vision in your mind’s eye?  Keep looking until you see your vision clearly.

Finally, notice your thoughts and fears about your vision manifesting.  Clear the thoughts and release the fears that invalidate your vision.  Whatever you believe creates your experience.  This is not logical yet very intuitive.  Your vision is 50 new clients this week BUT your belief is “It’s not possible!”  That is precisely what will manifest – wanting.

Do this exercise for as long or as often as necessary until you see your vision and can imagine it happening.   Be aware and notice as your vision manifests.

Best wishes on your success!

Kay

Don’t Give Up Your Goals!

You have your vision for the year.  You are enthusiastic about your goals.  Your plans are in place.   It is just about now when the energy hits! You begin to wonder about your goals.  The energy level has dropped or things are not moving as expected.   This is normal so don’t give up your goals.

Each January my gym, and probably yours, experience a sudden increase in membership and participation.  We all complain about equipment not being available but also know that in one month those folks will be gone so we wait it out.  It is worth making this observation.  This happens not only to those who commit to working out  it happens to anyone setting goals.

Change Is Uncomfortable

When we create a goal and have a strong vision of it manifesting our energy changes and our entire universe starts to change so that this new goal can happen.   These changes are most often uncomfortable because change means getting out of our routine and our comfort zone.  When we get out of our comfort zone everything seems unfamiliar and uncertainty sets in.  It is at this point in our confusion that we consider giving up our goals.  Don’t give up your goals.

Old Thinking

A goal  is something that we don’t currently have but we want.  Our energy, thoughts and pictures create our current routine, to manifest our lives and our work as it is now.  To achieve our goals something, and maybe everything, has to change.  Our energy begins to change.  Everything feels awkward and perhaps uncomfortable.  We  also have to change our thinking, which challenges what we know or believe.  During this time we may doubt ourselves.   Finally we have to see our lives, our work and ourselves in a new way, a way that supports our vision.

Not for the Faint of Heart

Change can be unnerving when we aren’t aware of what is going on.  We tend to question our goals and our ability to achieve them when all we really need to do is focus even more on our vision, to observe the changes this vision is creating, be certain, be enthused and ride the storm of change.

As an intuitive business consultant I know that is the time when business owners and professionals decide to commit to their vision or give up.   In all the years I have consulted the reason most do not achieve their vision is because they decide it won’t happen.  It is my perspective that it takes great courage and determination to achieve goals.   Achieving our vision of  success is not for the faint of heart but achieving a vision has a profound impact on our sense of self and our ability to create.  Giving up our goals  creates a different impact.

Intuitive Tips

We call these periods of uncertainty growth periods or periods of growth.   They happen periodically and usually signal that you are taking a big step towards your goals.   When you hit the wall it is important to get energy moving.  This can happen in several ways.

  • Raise your energy level to enthusiasm!  For each of us that means different things.  Take the time to have fun!  Do something you enjoy.
  • Get the energy moving by taking a new step towards achieving your goals so that you don’t back away.  Do something you enjoy and that inspires you.
  • Get communication.  Talk to one or more people who you trust about your goals, the steps you are taking and get their best counsel.

Most importantly  focus on your vision of success, be in enthusiasm and create ways to keep the energy moving know that this period of change is part of the process.

Don’t give up your goals. When you are traveling on the road of  success and a bolder falls along the way, don’t stop.  Climb over it.  Walk around it.   Be certain that you will find a way.

Best wishes on your success.

Cash Flow – Money in and Money out

Some have cash flowing in and out precisely at the level they desire.  What is the secret to their success?  Actually there is no SECRET!   We create and experience exactly what we believe or imagine.   Wanting easy cash flow does not create it especially if we do not believe it can happen.

Be careful what you believe. Thoughts and emotions (ours or others) affect our ability to manifest.  One of my clients is very capable at bringing money in but she is self-conscious about having more than her family so she manages to never has enough.

Money Coming In

Most of us spend time imaging ways to bring money in.  Our next step is imagining money coming in at the level we want.  Be aware of allowing money to come in from more ways than just hard work and effort. Allow the unexpected.

Money Going Out

The other side of financial havingness is having a strong vision of money flowing out.   Most don’t take the time to imagine this side of the dichotomy.   We don’t believe that we have full control of this or we don’t like the idea of money flowing out.  Why not?   We can decide to create a vision of money flowing out in the same way we can decide to create a vision of money coming in.  In fact, to have financial success our vision has to include both, money in and money out.

Enthusiasm for Money

Now notice your energy level.  Do you have enthusiasm for money coming in or is it a problem?   Do you enjoy money flowing out or do you resist this?   Your thoughts and emotional reaction to money in or money out affect your ability to create.

I Don’t Have ……

As a business intuitive I often hear business owners or professionals declare “I don’t have enough money for ……… or “I can’t afford …….”  They say it with such determination it is as if they are declaring this to the entire universe.  In fact, they are.  Be careful what you declare.  You are creating your business or career based on your declarations.   If you do not want something then simply say that.  If you want something but you cannot afford it right now then declare “I can have ….” then watch as the universe manifests in ways so that you can have it.

A Miracle

My client wanted a new highend expensive printer.  She could easily have declared, in dismay, that she would not afford it.  Instead she wrote this printer down as one of her goals.  A week later at a networking event there was a raffle for the exact printer she wanted.  Of course, she won the raffle.

Intuitive Meditation

Take the time to meditate.   Quiet the body.  Clear your mind.

Imagine in your mind’s eye money flowing in.  Use your intuition.  Notice your thoughts about this.  Notice your emotions.   Clear your thoughts and emotions that make money flowing in a problem until you can see your vision with enthusiasm for creating money.

Use your intuition to imagine money flowing out. Notice your thoughts about this.  Notice your emotions.   Clear your thoughts and emotions that make money flowing out a problem until you can see your vision with enthusiasm for spending money.

When you can imagine or see in your mind’s eye cash flow at the level you would enjoy then you are ready to experience financial havingness.  If you don’t believe this then you are not ready yet.  Keep meditating.  Clear your thoughts.  Release your fears until you can see clearly money in and money our exactly as you would enjoy.

Best wishes on your success!

Intuition in Sales – It’s all about you!

Taking Time to Meditate

A successful sale depends heavily on what’s going on with you!

Clients Are Intuitive

Your customers or clients are intuitive.  This means they are reading you, consciously or unconsciously.  What they pick-up from you determines whether they want to do business with you or not.  What do you want your customer or client to pick up from you?

If you had a fight with your secretary before meeting with or speaking with a client, the client may pick-up on this energy and suddenly feel like fighting with you and they are not sure why.

Perhaps you have the concept in your space or a thought on your mind that this client never buys from you so when they meet with you intuitively they pick-up the idea that they never buy from you.  That cannot help your sale!

Successful Sales

How might things be different if you prepared your space before you met with a client?  What could happen if you came into the conversation clear without any unrelated pictures or energy in your space that your client may pick-up on?

How might things be different if you were completely present, focused on this meeting and created a strong vision of the meeting going well?  I suspect the potential client will pick up on your clarity and feel confidence in you.   I suspect the client may also pick-up your vision of a successful sale and respond in kind.

Clear Your Space

Before you meet with a client or speak with them by phone take the time to meditate. Quiet the body and clear the mind. Notice your space.  How are you doing?  What is going on with you? Bring all of your energy and attention into the moment.  Don’t be distracted.  Release and clear anything unrelated to this meeting that is on your mind or in your space.

See Your Success

Now imagine the conversation you are about to have with a client or customer.  See it in your mind’s eye. Clear your thinking and release any limits or fears that may be in the way of you seeing the conversation going precisely as you would like.

Once you can imagine or visualize the meeting being successful then you are ready.

Watch for Part II of Intuition in Sales – Using Your Intuition during the Conversation.  This will be posted in one week.

Best wishes on your success.

Don’t go into a meeting blind – See clearly!

See clearly in your mind's eye

Someone sets the tone of every meeting.  When you are meeting with a client that person should be you.  This takes time and preparation.

We have all had experiences in meetings in which it unexpectedly starts off on a bad foot or shortly into the meeting things seem to go in a different direction than we had planned.  We find ourselves experiencing a lot of effort and our potential client is not responding in a way we expected.

Set the tone

As an intuitive business consultant I would like to offer an intuitive technique that helps set the energy or tone of a meeting.  This applies to a meeting in person, by phone or online.  It begins with meditation and depending on the importance of the meeting you will want to do this several times before the actual appointment

Going to a meeting blind

I would never recommend walking into a meeting blind meaning without a clear vision.   This is different from having an idea or plan.  Try the following exercise and see if it changes your experience in meetings.

Intuitive Exercise

Take the time to meditate.  This means to quiet the body, clear the mind, to stop thinking and open to your intuition.   Sitting in a quiet place with your eyes closed helps with meditation.

Your Vision

When you feel relaxed and have cleared your thinking then begin to imagine the upcoming meeting.  See it in your mind’s eye.

  • Be aware of your goal for the meeting
    • Release any thoughts you have that may get in the way of this
  • Be aware of the person or persons you are meeting with
    • Read them intuitively
    • What do you see or imagine is on their mind?
    • What are their expectations, concerns or needs?
  • Imagine how you would like to set the tone or energy of your conversation with them.
  • See the meeting going precisely as you would like.
    • Clear your thinking that may argue against your vision.
    • Release any doubts, fears or other emotions that are in the way of your certainty.

You may find that you have to do this exercise several times to clear your thinking and have a clear vision.  That is up to you.  When your vision is clear then you are ready.

Best wishes on your success.

Decison Making & Gut Feelings – Right or Wrong?

chess board

Decision Making

“You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

Steve Jobs (1955 – ) Source: Commencement address by Steve Jobs at Stanford: http://news-service.stanford.edu/news/2005/june15/jobs-061505.html

Everyone has intuitive experiences but few know how to use intuition effectively because we tend to talk about intuition as a single ability where, in fact, there are several levels of intuitive abilities.  They are not the same and not useful in the same ways.  For example, the most common intuitive experience is the common “gut feeling”.  A gut feeling is an intuitive reaction to something either positively or negatively.  When we experience a gut feeling it is an indicator that we are on the right track or that something is wrong.

Can You Trust Your Gut?

I suggest that we listen to our gut feeling and use it as an indicator but not a decision maker!  So many times I hear from my clients, “It didn’t feel right. I don’t know why I didn’t listen to myself!”   When something does not feel right it means it is time to step back and take a look at what we are not aware.  What am I not seeing?  What piece of information do I need to find?

Deciding

When I experience a negative gut feeling I don’t decide for or against anything.  For me it is a time to find the missing information.  First I look at the facts and the results to make sure I am not missing something.    Next I meditate. I do this so that I can gain perspective, clear my mind, find neutrality and open my intuition to “see” in my mind’s eye what is really going on.

Levels of Intuition

Intuition occurs on several levels: consciousness, subconscious an unconscious and supra-conscious levels of awareness.  Gut Feeling is the most basic level of conscious intuition.   Most use this conscious level of intuition.  It takes more experience to access the levels that offer more insightful levels of understanding.  It is my experience that those who only access the conscious levels can make incorrect decisions by not sorting intuition from logical or emotional reactions.

Intuitive processes happen very quickly and automatically so it is important to be conscious and aware of the level of intuition you are using so that you do not misinterpret your perception.

Making It Work

Effective use of intuition takes development and understanding of this ability so that emotions, logic, fear, desire don’t interfere.  Any reaction, i.e. anxiety, anger, love, etc. can interfere with clear access to your intuition.  It is interesting to note that these same emotions interfere with rational thought as well.

Meditate for Clear Seeing

For those who want to grow in their understanding of intuition and to use it to grow your success I recommend learning to meditate as a way to quiet the body and clear the mind. In particular I recommend an intuitive meditation designed specifically to open your clear seeing and clear knowing abilities.

Blogs in Intuitive Decision Making

The next three weekly blogs will be on using intuition in decision-making.

Best wishes on your success.

Finding Perspective!

We lose our perspective often during the course of a week.  When we have a perspective we are able to think clearly, make good decisions and take actions that meet our goals.  On the other hand when we lose our perspective we begin to react.  We make choices that are not in our best interest.

Awareness Is The Key

The key is to recognize when we have lost our perspective or as I see it – lost our space. As an intuitive I can see and, you can probably feel, when you have lost your perspective.  This happens when an experience changes your energy, something knocks you out of your space or someone’s energy is so firmly in your space that you “can’t see straight”!

Impact on Decision-Making

It is so clear to me when my clients have lost perspective; suddenly their decisions focus on one incident or one person.  They do not have their attention on the impact this decision will have on their business or their work.

Others Perspective

It is not uncommon for those around you to have lost perspective as well.  This is a recipe for disaster.  Communication is off the mark.  Trust is compromised.  Everything feels ungrounded and unclear.

Reacting

Making decisions when we don’t have a clear perspective are reactions to the energy in our space and don’t necessarily make decisions that will help us meet our goals.  When we begin reacting our ego takes over causing us to make decisions from an entirely different set of concepts.

Regain Perspective

To regain your perspective make time to meditate.   Quiet the body and clear your mind.   Notice what’s on your mind.  Notice whose expectations or energy is in your space.  Take a deep breath.  Begin to release or let go of whatever is on your mind or in your space.   When you feel clear and relaxed you will  find that you have also regained your perspective.

Best wishes on your success

Beyond Wanting!

Move Past Wanting!

During the past 30 years I have learned a lot from the business owners and professionals I’ve worked with intuitively.   Patterns emerged that give insight into how to succeed.   Some are able to manifest whatever they want while others struggle looking for the magic key.  Well, there is no magic key.  How to manifest is not a mystery.   Over the next few blogs I will share with you what I have observed and would love to hear from you as well.

Manifesting

When I use the term manifesting I am referring to the process of taking an idea and making it a reality.  This is what I have seen as an intuitive so it is not logical.  That is the other side of the brain.

Ideas & Wanting

Everyone has ideas and goals.  Some are fantasies and others we actually want!  When I see those who manifest and those who do not I see a difference.  Ideas are not creative but they are the first step.  Knowing what you want is very important.  When we stop here nothing manifests instead we just know what we want!  We stop in the space of wanting.

Vision

Successful people take this to another level.  They can see in their mind’s eye or visualize how to make it happen.  They focus and imagine it happening.  It is feels real!  They are certain.   In this way they are not thinking logically.  They are using their intuition to imagine and see their idea and what they want manifesting.

Take Steps

Finally, the clearer their vision the easier it is to take steps to manifest and make it real.

Have you ever heard anyone say, “I can’t imagine it!”  Well, when you can’t imagine it then it cannot happen.

Steps to Manifest

In summary

  • Have an idea
  • Decide that you want it (commit)
  • Using your mind’s eye, imagine or visualize it happening
  • Create a plan to get there

Meditate

If you find you “cannot imagine it” save yourself a lot of work and  meditate.  Clear your thinking and release your doubts until you can see your vision clearly then you will be ready to make it happen.

Best wishes on your success!

Determination = Miracles!

Story of Consultations: Determination

A client of mine created the most amazing miracle but he is not the first to do so.  This is a story about not letting perceived limits get in the way of your vision and your passion for creating a successful business.

This client, we will call him Fred, has been in the film/commercial industry for some time in one capacity then another.  In December 2009 he was invited to attend a vendor meeting at one of the largest agencies though he had never done any work for them.  As an intuitive business owner he knew this was not a coincidence though he was unsure what to expect.  While attending that meeting one of the creative directors mentioned a goal that he had for his ad campaigns.  It was cutting edge stuff that had not been done before. Fred listened carefully and took notes.

In January he called to see if they had found a production company willing to take on the challenge.   When he heard that no one had he declared that he was ready to submit a bid on the project.  He was not concerned that he had no experience in this modality. He knew he could create a team of the best in the field to work with him on this.  The challenge was to convince this agency that he could do it and do it well.  He suggested a strategy and venue for the ad.

Everyone in the industry told him he could not do this.  He did not have experience.  No one had done this work before. They poured more and more energy and limits into his space.  I could see the effect of others thoughts, programming and energy.  We worked to clear his space of all of this so that he could see his vision, stay focused and not be deterred by others perceived limits.

With determination and great passion Fred submitted the bid, went through many negotiations and worried as he found others had submitted bids as well.  We worked to keep his vision, to clear the pictures and concepts that were developing in his space.  Weeks and months went by, the time frame to complete the ad in time was getting short.  Fred grew more and more concerned but also more and more determined. His vision and energy focused he worked with the potential client to work through their fears and the limits they perceived.

Very close to the due date he got the project!   He almost said no because of the short time frame.  He started to doubt his ability to pull this off in such a short time.  We worked the energy and pictures that were in this way and he decided to go for it and created an outstanding team of experts who also had the courage to work with someone new in this arena.  In the end their work made advertising history and opened doors to other opportunities.  It was a miracle!

As an intuitive business consultant I often see where our own thinking and fear, as well as, those of others can get in our way.  I see business owners talk themselves out of achieving their goals.   Taking time to clear thoughts, concepts, fears to stay focused and determined is a pathway to business success.

Like Fred, when a boulder falls on the path you are walking don’t stop!  Find a way around it or climb over it and continue toward your goal.

Set energy to success!

Setting Energy

In this blog I look at success from an intuitive perspective.  Intuition involves a set of abilities that we all have but most rarely use or use them unconsciously.  It is my hope that we all open more to our intuition to not only “know” but also realize our ability to create.

Setting Energy

Today’s blog is about setting energy which is one of the core concepts related to intuition.  When we grasp this concept the world is in the palm of our hand.

A Form of Meditation

Setting energy is a form of meditation that can be done each day, meeting, conversation, activity, project, etc.   I can’t imagine engaging in my day without setting energy first.   I can see your minds going a mile a minute trying to wrap your thinking around this.  Well, this is not logical so it is best to stop thinking.  The only way to understand this concept is to experience it.  Meditation is a way to get out of our mind, our logic and open to our intuitive side.

Intuitive Business Consulting

As an intuitive business consultant my time  with all of my clients includes learning this important intuitive technique.  Once you get the knack for it you will see that it changes everything.

Intuitive Exercise

Try this exercise Experience is the only way to grasp this concept.  First choose a conversation you have planned for this week.  You will learn to set the energy for this conversation.

Sit quietly with your feet on the ground.  Be comfortable, close your eyes and begin to allow your body to quiet and begin to clear your mind.

I suggest using the following basic intuitive techniques.  (If you aren’t familiar with them and would like to learn them contact me.) Once you learn these techniques, it takes only minutes to create this space of meditation.

Find Meditation Space

  • Be grounded – energy connection to the planet
  • Be centered – attention and awareness in the center of your head
  • Have your space – aura in around you
  • Be in present time – have all of your energy and awareness in the moment
  • Breathe and release – technique for clearing and healing
  • Hold your head high – positioning the top of your head (crown chakra)

Open Intuition – Set Energy

  • Imagine in your mind’s eye a simple red rose – see it clearly
  • Decide that this rose represents the conversation you selected for this exercise.
  • Meditate on this conversation.   How would you like to experience this conversation?  How do you imagine others will experiencing the conversation?  How would you like to experience the energy : clear, uplifting, cooperative, validating, etc.?
  • Keep clearing your thinking, letting go of memories and emotions, etc. until you can imagine the conversation precisely as you would like it to go.
  • Put your attention back on the rose.  Let the rose change to a color that represents your vision of this conversation.  Now let it go.
  • Take deep breath.  Stretch.

You probably noticed that you had to clear your thinking, remove your fears and decide more clearly what you wanted from the conversation.

You may want to repeat this exercise again before the conversation.

When you have the real conversation notice how to goes.  How similar or different was it from your vision.  Awareness is the key to intuition as not everything is logical.  We are at our best when we use both sides of our brain.

Let me know how this exercise works for you.  I want to hear your story.

Abundance Replaces Greed & Scarcity

Abundance

Everything as we knew it has changed.  T his is the result of many actions including a natural correction.  The world is made up of dichotomies and is always seeking balance.  When greed and consumerism pushed the world to the far side of this dichotomy there was a shift that unfortunately threw us nearly to the other side of the dichotomy which is scarcity.  Scarcity and greed are the extremes of the balance called abundance.

In this new cycle abundance replaces greed and scarcity.  We all read in the paper each day stories about those who are still trying to perpetuate the dichotomy of greed and, of course, those who fear scarcity.  Should we give breaks to corporations OR give benefits to the poor?  Why is this an either/or question?  In this new cycle we should find there is no need for this competition.

As businesses right themselves to survive this economic tidal wave their values will decide their success.  Businesses that operate from greed or scarcity will find it difficult to adjust.  From an intuitive perspective businesses that find balance, who aren’t afraid to give, who see abundance and opportunity will be successful.

Everyone wants abundance.  It is the pot at the end of the rainbow.  Actually abundance begins within.  How we feel and how we see our world comes from within?  To create abundance, act abundantly, recognize and enjoy what you have, see abundance.  Wherever we put our attention is what we create.  Fear of scarcity creates scarcity.  Seeing abundance creates abundance.

Be abundant!  See abundance in others it won’t hurt yours.

I invite your thoughts on this.

Best wishes on your success.  Kay

Success without Limitations – Get Out of Your Mind

Let me challenge your thinking.

  • Success is always possible unless you believe that it is not.
  • There is never a reason outside of you for why success won’t happen.

These statements come from my intuitive reading of hundreds of business owners and professionals for 30 years.  We quite simply get in our own way.   Not intentionally, definitely NOT intentionally but simply because we are not aware that our own thinking is wrong.

You are probably wondering how that is true.   Eckhart Tolle, author of several books,  states that our brains have a mind of their own.   That is so true.  Given the chance our mind will create its own story about why something is absolutely true and we believe it without a doubt!  In this way we sabotage our own success.

Destroying Potential Clients

For example, my client Matt called a potential client, Ed, who he had created communication with.  He left a message for Ed telling him about an innovative product and if he wanted more information to call back.  Ed did not call back.  He left another message.  A week passed then two and three.  Matt decided in his own mind that Ed was not interested or he would have called back.  Matt went on to decide a whole list of thoughts that destroyed his interest in continuing to nurture this client.  He scratched Ed off his list.  As it turned out Ed was off on vacation and came back sick so was off for longer than expected.  Matt thoughts and reality were not the same.

Now you are probably thinking that Matt overreacted and you would be right.  It is easy to see this in others and not so easy to see this in ourselves.   When mentoring business owners and professionals to meet goals, create change or make important decisions, I look intuitively to see the thoughts, concepts, pictures and energies they created that are in the way of their success.  Most often we cannot see these on our own.  We tend to believe whatever we think.

Creating What We Resist

Another example has to do with memory.  We have a negative experience, create a whole list of assumptions based on that experience then apply all of them to the future.   Kathy was under contract with a client for a big project.  She did the work.  The client did not pay on the agreed schedule creating a troublesome cash flow problem.   She found with each new contract she expected the same thing to happen.  Not coincidentally it happened over and over again.

Get Out of Your Mind

There are no coincidences.  Whatever we believe is precisely what we manifest.  What are the thoughts, concepts, beliefs that you have created in your mind that limit your success?

Take the time to meditate.    For this to work for you try not to think because that’s where the lies are.

  • Quiet the body and clear your mind.
  • Open to your intuition.
  • As you become aware of what is in your and in your way you can imagine letting go of and separating from these thoughts.
  • Clear your thinking then imagine your successful self!

Best wishes on your success,  Kay

Intuitively Read Your Own Business

Man in Meditaiton

Finding Perspective

As a business intuitive I am amazed when I see a business owner or professional completely miss the obvious.  Their business has stalled.  They are working really hard but nothing seems to work even if they are doing all the right things.  Business owners come to me when they have exhausted everything they know to do to turn things around.  Their brains are fried.

So often the answer is standing right in front of them so how did they miss it?  From an intuitive perspective I see that they are looking for a logical answer.  All their attention is in their mind, what they know and what they think.   They are smart, have a lot of information so what’s not working?

Logic Reigns

I don’t know when it happened that the business culture decided all answers were logical or all decisions based on measurable facts.  That is simply not the case.  We have a logical side and we have an intuitive side.  Somewhere along the way we stopped using and trusting our intuitive side.   Therein lies the problem.

Logic & Intuition

When we take the time to use both we are in a better place to create our success.  So the challenge seems to use our intuition.  We simply are not used to doing this so it may take time, practice and deliberate attempts.

I recommend this exercise to begin to understand how to use your intuition as part of creating a successful business.

Intuitive Exercise

  • Take the time to stop whatever you are doing
  • Close your eyes, relax and gather you attention
  • Get quiet and focus on yourself
  • Bring all your attention and awareness to the moment
  • Stop Thinking!  Just begin to notice things
  • Begin with yourself.  How are you doing?
  • Become quiet, aware and see.  Don’t think but do notice your impressions of things.
  • You want to open your intuition to
  • What is going on with you, your office, your staff, your clients, etc?
  • Allow yourself to open to your intuition about things
  • Don’t analyze
  • Maybe take notes of your impressions
  • You can think of questions then see the answer you know intuitively
  • You can spend as much or as little time as you like.
  • At first I suggest you take as much time as you can to do this slowly and mindfully.

With the information you gathered intuitively you could decide steps you can take to get your business moving.  You will be surprised.  You may also enjoy approaching your business in this way.  Using both your logic and your intuition makes for better business planning and decision-making.

Best wishes on your success,

Kay

Communication Can Support or Destroy Success

Communication

Communication is our most important ability and yet we take so little care of it.

In business communication forms the foundation of our success.  Communication with our clients and customers, our staff, vendors, colleagues, etc. is critical.  We take communication for granted and give it little attention.   As a business intuitive I have seen communication support and destroy a business.

Our communication benefits from attention and care.  We collect energy, concepts, thoughts, pictures and attitudes in our communication space and it affects everything.  Here is an example.  Fred, a banker,  made his first phone call of the day to an important customer.   During their conversation this customer became angry with him for no clear reason.    He called me concerned that he was about to lose his biggest client.  I saw intuitively that Fred had a great deal of anger in his space.  I could see it and I could feel it.  I saw that he brought anger to work with him.  He explained that had a fight with his wife before he left for work. He felt badly about it and was still angry.    Everyone is intuitive so his customer unconsciously picked up on the anger, began to feel it and became angry.   I would suspect that his client is probably  wondering why he got angry at Fred and will let it go or will justify why he got angry which will destroy their relationship.   If the customer holds the anger he picked up from Fred then he will stay angry and pass it along to his next contact!

Each of us have had this experience.  We are speaking with someone and are having a strong reaction to them for no clear reason.  This happens all the time because we don’t take care of our communication space.  Clear communication changes everything.   Take care of your communication and see the difference.

Try these intuitive exercises.

After A Conversation

After you complete a conversation clear your space.   Take a minute or two to meditate. Close your eyes.  Take a deep breath.  Notice what is left in your space from that conversation.  What energy are you aware of intuitively? What thoughts are you stuck on?  Be aware of letting go of the energy you picked up from the conversation.  Let go of any thoughts or concepts that are still on your mind.  Clear the energy and concepts from your space.  Finally, meditate on how you want to be the rest of the day.  Reset your space.  How do you want to be in communication?  Reset your communication space. Be conscious and aware of doing this.  When you are clear then you are ready to come out of meditation and back to being yourself.

Before an Important Conversation

Before you communicate with someone clear your space.  Take a minute or two to meditate.  Close your eyes.  Take a deep breath.  Put your attention on yourself.  Be aware.  How are you doing?  What is on your mind?  What energy is in your space?   Clear your mind.  Let go of energy.  Now meditate on the conversation your are about to have.  What is your goal?  How do you imagine the conversation going?  What is in the way?  Clear and let go until you can imagine the conversation the way you would like it to go.

Taking the time to care for our communication space can change everything.

Best wishes on your success,  Kay

Success or Failure – Fact or Fiction

Thoughts Swirling

Business success or failure is a matter of the mind.  That may not be logical but it is very intuitive.  When we can approach our business from both logical and intuitive perspectives we have the whole picture.

As an intuitive business consultant I have worked with business owners and professionals for the past 30 years offering intuitive insight to support their success.

I would like to offer insight into a common situation that determines success or failure of a business or professional.  It has to do with our thoughts.  When we can sort facts from our thoughts about these facts we are able to make decisions and changes that support our success.

Too often our thoughts about a situation lead us down the wrong path.  I have seen many people get lost in their thoughts about a situation that leads to their failure.  For example, one of my clients, Kathy, worked hard to develop a bid for a project she felt she needed to get through the next six months.

As it turned out her company did not get the project.  Kathy’s thoughts about this had her spiral into levels of pain and panic.  Her thoughts were, “We are doomed.  We won’t make it.  We needed this job.”  She was headed down a dangerous course of thinking and emotions.  This is where we have to sort our thoughts from the facts.  Fact.  She did not win the bid.  Thoughts (not reality) – She is doomed.  Our minds have an amazing ability to make up stories from our thoughts and we believe them!

As I have presented before, thoughts are creative.  If Kathy adds energy to her thoughts they will manifest.  Wherever we put our attention is being created whether we want it or not.  If Kathy can become aware of the thoughts and emotions she is putting energy into, i.e. “We won’t make it” then she can pull her energy out of those pictures and redirect her energy into a creative solution.

Clearly Kathy had not created a plan beyond this important bid so she was at a loss – Fact.  That does not, however, mean she cannot create a solution.   The ability to create a solution comes from clear thinking and intuition not thoughts or emotions.

As an intuitive business consultant, I gave Kathy the following next step.  If she has a clear business plan that gives her the next step then take it.  If she cannot see a solution this is a good time to meditate.  Meditation is a way to quiet the emotions, clear the mind and clear your thinking.  It is a way to gain perspective.

I advised Kathy to:

  • Don’t look for a solution right now
  • Meditate to become aware of and clear thoughts that do not support her success
  • Release fear and other emotions.
  • Allow that she does not have an answer at this time.  Stay out of effort.
  • Once her mind is clear and emotions released then open to a solution using her intuition.
  • Pose your question in your mind’s eye.  Be quiet.  Don’t think.  Allow your answer to come.
  • Do this as often as needed until the next step  is clear.

Kathy meditated daily for two or three days then she received a phone call from an industry publication asking to do a feature on her and her company for their upcoming issue.  They wanted to feature the very service she had outlined in the bid that she lost.  Kathy was relieved.  Her new thought is, “This feature will surely bring me new business!”  And so it shall.

I know this is not logical and that you will only understand this by experiencing it.  So give it a try in any situation where you don’t have a clear answer.

Let me know your comments, questions and experiences.

Best wishes on your success,  Kay

Talking Off the Top of Your Head

Communication is so critical to our success and we often don’t give it very much attention.  More often than not we talk off the top of our heads.  This is the most dangerous form of communication.  To talk off the top of your head is an expression referring to channeling of thoughts, energies or emotions that are in our space at the moment without being conscious or aware of the impact of that communication.

This happens more often than we would like.  One of my clients was upset with a client and wanted to call to set things straight.  Fred’s perspective were correct.  He was in the right though I saw intuitively that communicating from these thoughts would not have achieved the outcome he wanted.  I advised Fred to take the time to meditate.  To clear his thinking and release the energy in his space then imagine, in his mind’s eye, the outcome he wanted from communication with his client.  He saw intuitively that he had to let go of his ego to meet his goal.  After doing so he had a clear picture of the outcome he would like to achieve and the communication that would get him there.  It worked.  His client extended the contract.

Another client was working with her client and two contractors to develop a project.  Kathy had a lot on her mind, juggling many perspectives, competing interests, etc.    I saw how easy it would have been for Kathy to talk off the top of her head and unintentionally share information that would complicate the project.   I advised Kathy  to take the time to meditate before each conversations, to clear her thinking, to be grounded and know precisely the communication needed to move the project forward.  She found this was critical to winning both the bid and the cooperation of her contractors.   She learned to sort out information each party needed (or did not need) to create a success.

When we are not conscious and aware we tend to talk off the top of our head or say whatever is on our mind which may not meet our goals.  When you have an important communication with a client, colleague, staff person, etc., take the time to meditate.  Calm your body.  Clear your mind.  Know the outcome that you want.  Let go of your ego.  Release energy or emotions.  Imagine in your mind’s eye, using your intuition,  the best way to communicate to achieve your desired outcome.

Calming the body and clearing our thinking is an important step to clear communication.

Let me know your comments and stories about communication.

Best wishes on your success,

Kay

Make 2011 Different Than 2010!

Allow Change

Everyone wants something they don’t have.  We call these our goals.  Whether we meet these goals or not is completely up to us and it is not a mystery.

We might have an idea or thoughts about our goals but we don’t have a clear vision of our goals.  We can’t see or imagine our vision happening.  Not having a clear vision means our goals are more something that we want to happen but don’t really believe it will manifest.

On the other hand perhaps we do have a clear vision.   I have learned working as an intuitive business consultant that having a clear vision is not enough.  To achieve goals we have to be willing to create and to allow change.

So often our resistance or fear of change stops us from achieving our goals.  From an intuitive perspective the minute we create a clear vision it begins to manifest.  Everything necessary to meet the goal begins to change.   That may include staff quitting, our role change, getting out of our comfort zone, taking risks, etc.

I have seen business owners stop their goals from manifesting because they were not willing to allow change.  When we allow change then our goals manifest gracefully.   When we resist change then we may still meet our goal but in more dramatic and less graceful ways.

Meditation is an important aspect of navigating change.  In meditation you can gain perspective, find neutrality, release fear, open to your intuition and see how change moves toward your goals.

If we don’t allow change then 2011 will be the same as 2010 and maybe that is fine.  If you have goals you have not achieved it may be time to get out of your comfort zone.  You decide.

Happy New Year (if you decide to make it new!) and Best Wishes on Your Success!

Recognize Your Success

As we enter the New Year we set goals, firm up our vision and focus on what we are creating next.  This is all good and there is an important step that most of us forget – taking the time to reflect on where we have been, what we have already accomplished and our successes.   I guarantee you that we have complete awareness of what we have not accomplished or our failures.   We may even judge or invalidate ourselves for one or more of these, which brings our energy level down and taints our perspective on our ability to create.  While we can learn from our mistakes, validating our successes brings our energy to the next level so that we can create success in the present.

A Story

Sarah is striving and working hard to promote the book that she wrote this year.  She is focused and is experiencing the stress of this next hurdle.  In our mentoring sessions I encouraged Sarah to take the time to recognize all that she accomplished, i.e. writing the book, which is no small feat, and having the book published which is another major success.  With this awareness Sarah felt suddenly empowered and certain of her ability to carry out the next challenge.

Next Success

In the world of creating success there is no end point.  People focused on success create one after another often without taking the time to recognize and validate each success along the way.   They behave as if there is an end point and once they achieve a particular success they will be done.  My experience with successful people is quite different.  I have observed that there is no end point.  Each success leads to another goal, which would be their new success.

When we take the time to recognize our accomplishments then we take success out of effort and see it as a life long journey of creating.

Best wishes on your success,

Kay

Making Real Changes!

We are ending the first month of the new year, a year of promises and commitments but how much has changed?   This is not a mystery.  It is a function of our commitment to change.

Everything we do, our routine, how we think, etc. is creating our lives, our work and our business precisely as we are experiencing it now.  If we want something new, a goal, a vision then something has to change!

Thoughts Are Creative

This change can begin with what we think or believe.   Thoughts are powerful.  I cringe when I listen to some of my clients whose thoughts are filled with what is not working or their fears about what won’t work.  They don’t realize that those thoughts are creating their reality.  They are creating what they don’t want!

On the other hand those who have a strong vision of their goals and can see it happening are directing their energy to manifest that vision.  It’s a miracle!  Not really a miracle but it is how we create reality.

Aware in the Moment

It is hard to create change when we unconsciously go through our usual routines in what we do, how we are in our work, how we react and not respond, etc.  Making real change comes from being conscious and aware in each moment.  It begins with being aware of yourself and what you are being now.    Notice if you are creating the change you want or are you in a pattern that is routine, responding to someone else’s demands, distracted and not different from before.

Be The Creator

Most believe that stuff just happens.  Few are aware of their ability to create reality.  I know this is not logical that does not mean that it is not real.  Making real change requires having a clear vision of the outcome you desire then direct your energy and attention for this to manifest.

Meditate

Take the time to stop, clear your mind (get out of your mind), quiet the body (stop reacting) and go within to listen to yourself.  Where are you now and what do you want to create now?  What can you change to manifest your vision for 2011.

Meditate on your vision.  See it clearly (imagine it).  Change your energy level to determination.  See your vision manifesting.

Best wishes on your success,   Kay Robinson

Goals Do Not Create Success

Most business owners and professionals take the time to decide their goals.  Some even write them down.  From my experience working as an intuitive business consultant, goals do not achieve success!

You can write and achieve goals all day long and never manifest your vision of success.  Manifesting success begins with having a clear vision of what this is.  Once you have a clear vision then you are ready to create goals that support your vision.  Goals without a vision is simply a way to discipline yourself or create tasks.

Knowing how to visualize is key.  To visualize means to see in your mind’s eye or imagine.   If you are thinking about what you want then you are not visualizing.  Thinking and visualizing are different sides of the brain and create different results.

Steps to visualize:

  • Take the time to be quiet.  I recommend meditation but simply sitting quietly with your eyes closed is enough.
  • Relax and clear your mind.  Stop thinking.
  • Breathe deeply throughout to relax and release.
  • Begin to imagine.  What is your grandest vision for yourself, your business or your work?  Don’t fantasize.  Imagine or see your business or your work precisely as you would like it to be.
  • Keep clearing your thinking.  Releasing tension. Opening to your ability to see clearly.

This may not be so easy at first.  Do this often until you can see your vision clearly knowing that if you cannot imagine it then it cannot happen.  See your vision as the blue print for what you are creating. This may not be logical but if you do this practice you will see immediate results.

Next Blog will be on how to create and use goals from an intuitive perspective.

If you would like help with learning to visualize please make a mentoring appointment with me and I will guide you.

Best wishes on your success,

Kay

Welcome 2012!

Welcome to 2012!

As we enter a new year that feeling that you just ended a cycle and are starting a new one is very real.  I heard a woman say the other day, we don’t celebrate the new year, each day is just like the last and the next.   As I look intuitively I see that she has decided (consciously or unconsciously) not be creative.   Those of us who are excited to create, manifest, challenge ourselves, try something new, etc. relish this time of the year because the energy on the planet is set for that now!

To take full advantage of this try the following:

  • Let go of the past (the last and earlier cycles).   What are you holding onto?  Let it go.
  • Take the time to meditate or reflect on your vision for this year.  Don’t think and argue with yourself about what can and cannot happen.   Just bring to your mind’s eye what you would like experience this year.
  • Get out of your own way.  Clear your thinking.  Stop controlling.
  • Focus on what you want.  Don’t put time, energy or attention on anything that brings you down.
  • Always be present in the moment instead of the past or even the future.
  • Take care of your body.   Get the right amount of sleep, exercise and water.  Eat the right foods.
  • Have lots of fun!  Decide to enjoy each day then do!

At the beginning of this cycle create a change, get out of your routines and patterns.  If you want something to be different then change something or many things.

Share what you do to get things going in the cycle of a new year!

Best wishes on the new year and your success!

Kay

What are you being?

Meditate

One of my clients called.  She is feeling the urge to create change.  She wanted to change her business, her relationship, etc. From her perspective she named several things that were a problem and not working.  From my perspective there were no problems.  Kathy simply needed to come back to her center.  She was not being herself and had lost sight of what they was.

Rather than being herself she found that she was reacting to people, clients, work, family, etc.  Kathy had become a reaction to everything around her or all she could do is see everything and everyone as a problem. She had lost her space and her sense of herself.  She was not being Kathy.

Kathy was asking about decisions she felt she needed to make and make now!  As an intuitive I saw it differently.  She did not need to make any decisions.  She needed to get her space back.  Once that happened I knew things would unfold for her without having to make any decisions.  She could simple follow her vision.

Her next step was to stop, meditate or simply find a quiet time to reflect and come back to herself.  She needed to find her sense of herself, how she sees herself, what she values, her passions and what she wants to create.  It is not a coincidence that Kathy is feeling this way right now.  We are all in a natural cycle, ending a year and starting anew.  She is right in sync.

Once Kathy finds her space and her sense of herself (which may take several meditations) she will not see everything as a problem and will instead be focused on how she is being in each moment.  That of itself will manifest a different reality for her, one that she desires.

If you find your life out of sorts, it may mean that you have simply lost your space.  Take the time to meditate and find yourself.  It will change everything.

Cycles: success & failure, success & failure

Cycles are a favorite topic because they are a regular part of our lives and we pay so little attention to them.  This blog is for business owners and professionals so I will focus on your success though cycles are part of all aspects of our lives.

We experience times when everything seems to be going well and we have the magic touch.  Then there are times when nothing we do seems to make a difference and all we experience is failure.  This too shall pass.  It is a cycle.

Study of Cycles

Scientists and mathematicians know that cycles are statistical and predictive.  Intuitives and astrologers know this as well.  After the great depression Edgar R. Dewey was appointed to investigate the causes of the crash so we could prevent it from happening again.   After extensive study and statistical analysis Dewey reported that the great depression was a naturally occurring cycle and it would happen again.

Evidence of cycles is everywhere.  Night and day. Four seasons. Women’s cycles.   Lunar cycles.   There are many fascinating books on the subject of cycles.

Cycles of Success

As a business owner and professional being aware that cycles exist and affect our success helps us to know how to work during the down cycles.  Managing our success during up cycles does not need my attention here.   It is however important that we know how to maximize the upswing so they help stabilize our business or work for a down swing.

Down Swings

The length of any cycle can change dramatically so knowing how to support your business or work during these times is the key to your success.  When we start to recognize a down swing as nothing more than that then we can use this time to carry out tasks in your business that don’t fit during an up cycle.

Ways to Manage Down Cycles

  1. Recognize cycles.   When we do not recognize cycles as a natural part of life then we may decide that we have failed and quit when all we really need to do it ride the down swing.
  2. Take Charge.   It is easy to get discouraged because the energy is lower and slower during a down cycle.  It is easy to match this by lowering our energy, feeling less motivated or defeated.  On the contrary change your energy to take charge of your work and your business to carry out those tasks best suited for this phase of a cycle.
  3. Keep energy moving.   Resisting the down swing of a cycle can make it last longer, cause you to make incorrect decisions and loose perspective.  Instead take steps in your business that will support your business in the long run.
  4. Plan and Create.   A down cycle is a great time to reflect, evaluate, plan and develop.  The phones are not ringing.  Clients are not beating down your door right now so this the perfect time to look at your business with open eyes.
    1. Evaluate your products, services, business model, staffing, etc.
    2. Spend time on services or product development.
    3. Develop your client list.  Communicate with clients and potential clients without a great deal of expectation.  Keep lines of communication open.
    4. Create time to train staff or find ways to grow their ability to support the success of the company.  A good time for staff development
    5. Feng Shui your office, warehouse, etc.  Improve the physical space.
    6. Have a party.  This raises the vibration which is important so that staff do not become the effect of the down cycle.
    7. Other activities that you or your staff don’t have the time to do during an upswing.

Begin to recognize cycles.  Learn to use both sides of this dichotomy to your best advantage.  In this way your business and your work as not good times and bad times but rather times of providing products and services (making money) and times to develop and reground your work or business.

Best wishes on your success.  Kay

Business Success: How do you want to be?

One of my clients, Sarah, called me last week because she was suddenly aware of how she was being with others: staff, colleagues, clients, etc.   She became aware when a long time client dropped her company suddenly and for no clear reason.

In hindsight, she realized that she had lost sight of herself.  The stresses of her life and work were being felt by all those around her.   She was not being herself.  She was up tight and people were avoiding her.

It is possible to run a successful business without self-awareness.  Many successful business owners have all their attention on their success and are succeeding without self-awareness.   The culture of business is changing.  Men and women see creating a successful business as part of who they are and what they are creating in their lives.  They are doing what they enjoy.  Enjoy what they are doing and want to keep it that way so when things get out of whack they want to know why.

Back to Sarah.  Your clients, staff, colleagues, etc. are intuitive.  They pick up on your energy.  It affects them because you are the captain of the ship.   Knowing how they are experiencing you begins with self-awareness.  What are you being today?  What is on your mind?  What energy are others experiencing?  Is this helping get the reactions that you want and meet the goals you have set?

Intuitive Exercise

  • Take time each day to meditate (Close your eyes and pay attention to yourself.  Quiet the body and clear the mind.)
  • Notice how you are doing.
  • What is on your mind?
  • Release whatever you are holding onto: a conversation, a disappointment, etc. so that you are in the moment.
  • Decide how you would like to be in your work, your personal life, etc.
  • How do you want others to experience you?
  • Now change your space to that.  Change your energy.  Release.  Raise your vibration.
  • Imagine (see in your mind’s eye) how you to be.

When you are feeling like yourself again then you are ready.  You and others will experience the difference.

Best wishes on your success,

Kay

Confidence or Bust

I read an article today by Dave Smith, Inc. on Tim Sanders’ new book, “Today You Are Rich”.  Tim is a former Executive of Yahoo!   One area he touches on is confidence.  He describes it as a “lifestyle design principle that has to do with the information you put in your head, the conversation that comes out of your mouth, and your thoughts and deeds.”

I like this.  Confidence is what you hold in your mind.  Why not clear your thinking and get everyone else’s thoughts out of your mind?   We might feel confident one moment then hear news that the economy is tanking and suddenly our energy has dropped, our confidence is gone and we have succumbed to a reality created by the media.

In his book Tim tells success stories in which the entrepreneur disregarded the doom and gloom that was in the air and moved forward confidently.  I use the term “in the air” to refer to whatever idea or energy most people are latching onto at the moment.

Here is one of the stories he tells.  Remember the Sony Walkman?  What a success story!   Apple decided to ignore the economic realities (the dot-com bust) and move forward with their idea to replace the Walkman. It seemed unimaginable then Apple came out with the iPod and changed everything at a time when the economy was crashing.  That’s confidence.

As an intuitive business consultant the most common factor affecting business owners is confidence.  It is so easy to be knocked off-center by a thought, someone else’s thought, a feeling, a disappointment, news, whatever is in the air, etc.  The key to success is to confidently move forward.

“Success isn’t really a destination, because you’ll never get there. Talk to anyone with millions or billions, they’re always thinking of the next thing. Success is a direction, and that direction is forward.” Tim Sanders

Intuitive Exercise

Here is a simple intuitive exercise you can do when your confidence is shaken.  Try it.

  • Take a moment to meditate.  This means to sit quietly with your eyes closed.  Take a deep breath and release.  Allow yourself to quiet your body and clear your mind.
  • Place attention on yourself.  Take your attention off everyone and everything else for a few minutes.
  • Now lift up your head.  Really.  Physically lift up the top back of your head so that your spine is long. Feel it stretch.  In this way your spine is long, energy centers are aligned and suddenly you feel differently.  More confident.  More certain.
  • Now imagine in your mind’s eye, feeling confidence, how you plan to move forward, the step’s do you want to take, etc.  Don’t be afraid to take bold steps and to get out of your comfort zone.

Do this as often as needed to sustain your confidence.  Being a business owner is a rocky and exciting road.  Enjoy the journey and success.
